Cobalt SS/TC vs Turbo Hyunda V6 Tiburon
Ok so this race hasn't happened yet.
but the lulz must ensue.
My wife's friends BF was talking to me at the Bronco party we were having on Sunday. He told me he bought a 2008 WRX STi for 10k and was running 45 psi of boost and had 150 shot of nitrous. It ran 9's in the 1/4 mile at 5500 ft mind you, and that it had parachutes on the back.
At this point, I just toned him out. Actually when he said he was running 45 psi of boost without telling me what turbo he was using...I tuned him out.
Anyway, he then said he had to sell it and now hes got a 2008 V6 Tiburon. He wants to race me once he turbo's it and puts on Nitrous...

They do, I was looking at a yellow 2.7 liter one. Test drove it and really liked it but was thrown off because the oil was very low in the engine(didn't show on dipstick) and there was a crack on the front bumper. Decided to try one last dealer before making my mind up and test drove my lsj... And you see where I am now 
funny thing was this was after looking around at 350z's and not being too impressed with them when I actually drove one

That bronco party must have sucked, cause they got KILLED
But on topic, those newer bottom ends in the v6 tiburon can't handle **** so his first nitrous shot will do the trick.
Did I mention that the Hyundai 2.7L V6 puts out an astounding 182BHP?
Atleast the new 3.8 they managed 300hp

I have an 03 V6 with some work done to it. Ported heads,long tubes, 2.5 cat back, ported intake manifold upper and lower, big bore throttle body, 290 injectors and a tune blah blah blah... I think it might be putting down a tad over 200 hp lol. It's got 200k miles also mind you. It USED to be turbo. I had a kit built by a guy named Duffer from newtiburon.com for 2500 bucks. Plus supporting mods. Car ran 10 psi all day for about 4 years before I sold the kit to buy my conquest tsi. Was fun! If he goes turbo he won't need the nitrous to beat an lsj, but a TC.. yea, still won't be enough. I love my tib, I drive that more than the cobalt lol. And yea, gen coupe with the 5.0 would be bad ass but I doubt it'll happen. The 3.3 lambda v6 twin turbo is on the build list for next year though ;-) good luck beating that with a TC.

I used to have a 2000 tiburon. The ones with the "beta I" engine and no variable valve timing. Its a clone of the mitsu 2.0L engines.
The gearing was really short which is what made the car fun lol. You'd be at 3500rpms at 60mph. rediculous. The 2000 tiburons were like 2600 Ibs and 138 hp.
I had 4-2-1 headers, cat back exhaust, intake, the light weight pulley crap (underdrive, water pump, alternator). Im pretty sure none of that actually added any power to the car and I still think the 4 cylinder 2000 hyudai tiburon was faster than the v6 one.
