no vid of this one sorry..so i was on my way home when i pulled up to a brand new yellow camaro ss.. some guy and his girlfriend just looking badass (i was jealous...and she was hott.) anyways i tried toying with him for about 10 minutes and he wasnt going to waste his time...anywho the important part...we pulled 3 times.. first 2 were from 45 mph i pulled him fairly the first time all the way thru 2nd and 3rd..the second time was more of a walk and the third time we went from 60 i was in third...and he walked me all the way thru 3rd and eventually got about 5 cars ahead....i need water/meth...94 degree weather plus supercharger plus consecutive runs equals *****. i really want one of those damn things..

 

i call bs if your talking about a 2010 camaro ss, dont those have like 450 hp

422 bhp and dyno about 367 whp...plus there wieght and him and his girl..i was alone..why would i make this up??? he beat me at the end...if i wanted to make it up i wouldve said i was leaving school and his girl was admiring my ride..so he got jealous and threw a baseball thru my rear windsheild (even tho he was a football player) and we almost fought but his hot blonde said we should settle this in a race and the winner gets her.. we then raced down a new construction site and i jumped thru a house and came in first but i then flipped my car and lost my tabasco sauce at some point during the roll..my mom got mad and sent me to tokyo where i am now the drift king and the takashi had to leave town cuz i beat his turbo 350z...is that better for u.

btw, food for thought. when i go to the track(and normally leave my car like this for a few days after) it weighs 2800 with me in it.

 

ooo i c clearly now thank u...since u have no idea how much power i have and obviously u have no clue about power/weight.. lets say i have 275 whp...and this guy has 367 whp..i weight about 3000 lbs with me and he ways 3857 plus his weight about 210 plus his girl about 120...that would be 4187 lbs...ur telling me that 90 more horses and 1187 more lbs would make this story false....u put 1187 pounds in ur car and tell me u dont fell atleast 90 hp drained if u dont rip out the tranny first.

why do people never include their own weight into their own car when making a power to weight ratio comment...

i weigh 220 and with nothing in my car but me i weight 3220

no matter your mods a stock ss will trap higher than you and walk you from a roll.

Considering he is just a stage 1 with some mods I will hold out on the BS until we learn something else. Was it an auto or manual? They are two different motors making 2 different HP's. The auto seems to be alot slower then the manual and owners aren't to happy about that. A stick has been known to trap 112 no matter what the weight is it is doing it and won't be touched be a SC SS with out a TVS or a TC with out a bunch of bolt ons and a tune.

So, auto or manual OP?

Oh and ya'll need to quite bosting about power to weight, look what happens with the GTO. Same power to weight and you still get pulled. The cobalt is an economy car and geared as such, when racing a muscle car with a big V8 it was designed from the get go to go fast and is geared very well to match up to the HP and boat loads of torque it is putting out. Plus when talking roll weight becomes less of a factor. Look at the ISF, 14 more hp and more weight yet it can still out trap a GTO by a couple MPH. Anyone want to take a guess why? Gearing and power band...

im saying without swapping to a tvs or turbo no matter your mods its not gonna happen yes unless you put alot more money into it.

and autos still would pull and i believe the ss only comes manual dont quote me on that, but actually the autos are the ones pulling faster times on the track fyi

This is very believable, I ran a auto from a roll at about 65 and he was no where near me. Last night at the track there was a 2010 6 speed that could only pull off 13.3's the entire time.

Thats about what those cars are going to run with average drivers. These people that keep thinking they are 12sec cars all day long are dreaming. You are really going to have to know how to drive the car pull a 12sec pass.

 

They will trap around 112 stock, just wait till people do a few mods to them. Even if the Camaro SS is stock, there are only a handful of Cobalts that can trap near or above that, so thinking we can hang with them is a bad idea.

Also, its possible he just threw on some SS badges, and you were dealing with the middle trim model.

I have to agree with the driver comment. The driver matters so much. My friend can't get out of his own way with his new Camaro. He couldn't beat a 13.2 1/4th mile run. I was able to pull off a 12.9 on my third run with the same car. My 60ft times were always about two tenths quicker then his.

Weight ratio is so important, but there is so much more involved in the equation. Right now I'm waiting on a new front coil over suspension kit for my Syclone. The kit is going to drop 100 pounds off my front end. I'm not expecting to gain a better 1/4th mile with that one mod. Over time though I should be dropping about 300 total pounds off my truck, then adding a roll cage. So in the end I should gain at least a tenth or two. Once I add the carbon fiber front and rear drive shafts I should see a decent gain. Hope to be playing in the high 9 second bracket in a street legal pickup truck.

P.S. I finally seen Transformers II last night and Bumble Bee looked awesome.
