Weight ratio is so important, but there is so much more involved in the equation. Right now I'm waiting on a new front coil over suspension kit for my Syclone. The kit is going to drop 100 pounds off my front end. I'm not expecting to gain a better 1/4th mile with that one mod. Over time though I should be dropping about 300 total pounds off my truck, then adding a roll cage. So in the end I should gain at least a tenth or two. Once I add the carbon fiber front and rear drive shafts I should see a decent gain. Hope to be playing in the high 9 second bracket in a street legal pickup truck.

P.S. I finally seen Transformers II last night and Bumble Bee looked awesome.
IRS is slowly destroying the predictability of races. It used to be that if a car could run mid 12's, it wasn't all that hard to do it. Long gears, solid rears. IRS and tons of weight are making cars super tricky to launch.

i weigh 220 and with nothing in my car but me i weight 3220

maybe a few clothes in the back.

that being said your atleast 3000.

no matter your mods a stock ss will trap higher than you and walk you from a roll.

i dont call bs cuz the guy probably cant drive.

just saying he has a reason to call bs.

those trap atleast 107 and your mods are good but idk if you trap at the ammount to get him.

+ the bumble bee camaro has a diff hood than the ss just saying
Glad to see you know what you are talking about (sarcasm), when I was just GM Stage 2 and stock everything else I trapped 105.

Look at the OP's mods.. it isnt GM stage 1 you morons, it's OTTP Stage 1 plus supporting mods. Totally plausible, the new Camaros are poop dick.

I hope so. If the new Camaro has problems walking a Cobalt then GM needs to fire their product development engineer...

honestly i have no clue...sounds dumb but i shouldve ran it stock then with all my mods..iam afraid of snapping axels.. our track is reall sticky and i have no mods as far as suspension and mounts and such...i hear our cars snap axels quite easily when there stock..so im definetly not taking the risk. im going to guess low 13's maybe high high 12's im no hatrickstu but im a damn good driver and our mods are fairly similar.

car and driver has already 1/4 tested the 1-SS, 2-SS, and the V6 models. 1-SS ran a high 13, 2-SS ran a mid 13, and the V6 ran a 14.6 getting beat out by the genisys V6 that ran a 14.4

wtf are you talking about, the 1ss and 2ss are mechanically identical. If anything, the 1ss is lighter.

no they are not the same. 1SS has the 400bhp L99 engine in it, the 2SS has the LS3 426bhp engine in it... Trust me, i have a 2SS on order and had the dealer show me the spec diferences on both. And you can go build on on chevy's web site and the specs are listed on there as well for the diference in the engines.

well damn. i feel sorry for anyone that ordered a 1SS for pre order. all those came with the L99. All new 1SS's have the LS3 now.... So i appoligize to you, we are both equally right.

the only good thing that i see out of this is that i got my Inferno Orange interior and i dont see it in the list of their options for you to order now. lol. so i'll have a rare one, sweet.

wow they really changed up the ordering. 2 months ago when i ordered mine you could get a 2SS w/ LS3 for 30k, and then with the Inferno orange racing stripes, inferno orange interior, and the ground effect package i got it for 34k. Now the 2SS is the only one you get the inferno orange interior as an option and it cost 33k to start and it dont include the stripes or ground effects package... man o man did i get a hell of a deal on my order, whoo hooo for pre ordering for me. lol

the l99 comes with the 6 speed auto tranny, the ls3 comes with the tr-6060. It has always been that way. The l99 bellhousing does not work with the tr-6060. The camaros for some reason are slowly getting more and more expensive. I can't find a 2ss with the 6060 for under 37k in my area. I wish i could cause i'd buy one.

i watched the new camaro ss auto run at the track and the best time i saw it run was a 13.4 and it was done by a driver that has been drag racing for years.

so it could be plausible.

Dodge Challenger SRT = $43,000
Ford GT500 = $47,000
Camaro 2SS + $35,000

Yeah, they were WAY over on their pricing. What were they thinking.

The race seems reasonable to me.

I'd put money on it a 6 speed SS with no torque management and drag radials would run a mid 12 second time

The Silver A6? Mike told me about that when i was there getting my old man's C6 tuned. He said the Auto's are mind boggling when it comes to tuning them , but IIRC he gained .3-.4 tenths adjusting shift pressures.
