guy at work thinks my car is a cavi.
89 is actualy a 2nd gen, and the aluminum head 2.8l is 130hp 170ft/lb. the older v6 5 speed cars can run 15.8s dead stock with a good driver, even with high mialage, however most are in the 16.0 range. you would have smoked him, no doubt about that.
as for the cobalt being the new cavi, well, sort of. it did take over for the cavalier that had a 23 year run. technically speaking, the cavy is a j-platform, the cobalt is a delta chassis, nothing shared.
as i see it, he chickened out, so next time he trash talks, just tell him he didnt put up, so shut up. even for the hell of it, id tell him if he realy thinks its a slow pos that you will race him for bragging rights only.

so i just started a new job last month i dont really know anyone yet. i go into the back room today and i hear someone talking you see that yellow car out there i bet my cavalier could smoke that ****. i turn around and say 100$ says you cant.

me: you heard me 100$ says your cavalier cant beat my cobalt
guy: thats just a new cavalier its exactly the same car
me: no actually there are no interchangable parts between the cobalt and the cavalier.

he isn't back yet? damn, that cav must be taking a while to get down the road with that huge V6, lol, when it comes to money, i race whatever, but if somebody wants to just run them for the hell of it, im good on that i 'll pass...unless its something that will be close like an older stang 5.0 my buddy has.

Same here. What’s up with that? Man I went to check out some wheels that a friend of mind’s dad was selling, his dad was like oh that’s cavalier. Man I didn’t say nothing then he checked the back ether though the car said Cobalt he was that’s a cavalier. He was telling me that his 2002 2.0 Jetta was faster.

Wow all mighty. Whats the point of your post exactly? We were talking about taking advantage of someone with a real slow car who thinks its fast. If it makes you feel better thats like me running a 13.6 thinking I can beat a low 12 second SRT-4. I would not make a bet if I did not know I could pull it off. LOL whatever though. The funny thing is you did not see my new time slip but I'm not one to brag and act like you did in the previous post...

Man its fun to run for money, you’re an idiot if you know you can smash on some one and not put money on it. **** real racing is for money not just to run your car man. What’s the point in making your car fast if you can’t make a bet for some cash? Man. It’s a gamble, but gambling is fun.
