Easy for me cuz my car is stock and would lose to almost anything.

I was happy I held off the urge back in high school about 5 years ago. Some punk and two friends were in his brand new Mercedes. I was driving a '95 sunfire at the time. He was riding my butt down one road, I turned and he followed and then pulls up beside me to race. I said no. He's sitting there revving his engine like crazy. I give it one rev and they laugh. I then said on green. I do a stepped on it quick up to 25mph, then proceed to accelerate normally. I saw a cop up ahead and he didn't. He got pulled over and turned off to the side street, same way I had to go home. I laughed on the way by. Next day his bitching at me for it and demands I pay for the ticket. I said, "sorry, but you should ask your rich ass parents for it since they gave you the car."

He wanted to get DUBs for his ride, but I never saw them on his ride after that.

You know he is full of it. If he is the kind of person that has never gone over the speed limit thats ok I guess. That most likely means he goes under the speed limit witch means he is even more mentally challanged. Going slower can be more dangerous.

i was on the way to the casino one night with my gf and this truck with an atv in the bed pulls up next to me and keeps revving speeding up and slowing down. and my gf says .. "is this guy srs, he's not even worth your gas". he was trying so hard to get me to race him.. i think he gunned it a couple times but with how slow he took off i surely hope not.. eventually when i didn't bite he stuck his arm out the window and gave me a thumbs down .. i lulzd since my car in 5 gear would've probably flew by him lol

I try and keep it at the track level but sometimes cant help it. At this point with the swap i am doing i would never waste my time on the little dogs only looking to runs cars that are 11's if not i am just wasting gas.

So you only run digs then? ET's don't mean anything from rolls.

It's pretty easy to deny for me, I have nothing to prove. Until the blood starts boiling...then I just let the animal instincts take over.

I do it all, but getting older has kept it mostly at the track. Not much involved in roll races from 3rd and IMO is more car than driver. I know lots of people that beat me on a roll race but cant keep up at the track. Not much of a point saying you beat someone from a roll race if you cant beat the same car off the line at the track.

This. Roll racing is fun, but is hardly any kind of real performance metric. In every roll race, somebody has a handicap.

Why would you roll race from 3rd!?!?!? That's pointless since a roll race is supposed to be a span of 100mph to determine a winner (with evenly matched cars that is) and 3rd starts at like 70ish for Cobalts.

There is plenty of point to say you beat someone from a roll race, it means your car is faster, and there is driver skill involved unless the car is an auto w/ no stall.

As for launching, there's really next to no driver skill involved until your talking mid-13 second cars, and even then it's not all driver. IMO suspension set up/tires play a bigger role then the driver.

You can slap the best driver in the world into a car as it is from the factory that runs, lets say, 11's. Slap an average driver into the same with with a good suspension/tires and the average driver will win 9 times out of 10.

Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to flame you, just starting a discussion.

I hear what your saying and agree with it as well. What i was trying to get across is that if someone really wants to see who is better i do it at the track since thats all driver and setup. I know plenty of cars like i said before that beat me from a roll cause they suck at launching, same car race at the track i beat them cause they cant launch the car. Most people fail off the line where i am much stronger and the reason i prefer the track. Trust me i have done plenty road racing in my time and still do every once in a while.

I know your not flaming and just getting your point accross. Wish i had my stang was looking at a 03/04 SVT but could not find one at my 13k price range i had. Unfortunately at this point i have put enough money into the balt to get what i wanted in the first place. I look forward to running the balt with the new turbo setup here shortly and will be looking for some v8 muscle to have some fun with.

That is true, I myself am not great at launching my car, however I have street tires and am not set up for the 1/4 mile. I've watched Z06's run 14's even because they can't get off the line and can't shift to save their life.

I get harassed all the time for my granny shifting but I don't have an aftermarket clutch to support WOT shifting either. I stick to rolls because that's what my car is set up for, someday I'll buy a set up for the track, but that's not a priority to me.

And ya, $13k is a tight budget for a Terminator. My friend just got a convertible 03 for $12k! Lucky SOB got a steal. Car's extremely clean too, just needed a new clutch.

it's hard. the last race i was in was against a lotus esprit x180. i actually challenged him knowing i'd lose, but to my credit we got to 120 and i was behind by only one car length.

Just messing.

I only race people that are worth racing or that I know would be a challenge.
