LSJ Vs Mustang 5.0

This was a random race on my way to work.
The very first race was the best one(not on video), were the stang started pulling on me around 120 mph, funny how on the first race i didnt redline my 2nd gear to 8k and it made day n night difference advantage for the stang.

Guy was kool about it and said he only had exhaust done.

Cobalt has ported head, cams, methanol injection.

roll was from 50-55 mph

His setup is happy
13-14 psi by redline IIRC (2.7 pulley)
Moderate tune; capped it at 22* up top and 11.5 afr (Rudy can you confirm?)

--

Nice runs man
One of these days when your itching for more out of the m62
Gotta hit up Alan McClure for the revised blower port that picks up 16whp on a 2.5 pulley over a stock blower.

10 or 12 gph and whalaa

Is more like 12-13 psi. You need to give me more timing 25*. Nitrous has been wondering my mind lately...well see.

Ported Head & cams is going to wake up the M62, To top it off, E85 will do wonders for you. Good luck!

I see that you are spinning your car out to 8K, do you have the ATI damper? I'm on a similar setup without aftermarket camshafts but I do want to run methanol injection.

100%METH, a revised port job? How is he able to gain more power? Is his port not done well? These are pictures of my M62. Should I have gone more aggressive on the port? I thought this was already done well.

OP you only see 12-13 PSI on the 2.7? Damn makes me wonder how much that ported head is flowing for you. Thinking about getting one in the future.

The cams also play a role on boost pressure.
Generally one can expect 3-4 lbs of boost loss from an exhaust ported head

Much of the gains come from the outlet port when spinning small pulleys outside of the eaton rated efficiency of the m62.

I been spinning my engine to 8k for over a year without issues. I did deleted my balance shaft though. Makes it rev lot faster.
