Race!!!!!!
Race!!!!!!
I raced a Brand new mustang GT today.. the special version with the bigger then normal hood scoop.. we were doing a 40mph roll and then we hit it. at the end of the race i won by two car lengths at about 95mph.. now was that a real win or did he not know how to drive???
What special version are you taking about because if it was a Shelby or a Roush or something like that then he should of been able to rape you if he could drive worth a **** but who knows there are pleanty of divers with able cars that cant drive to save their lives.
the bigger than normal hood scoop? well the hood scoop is an option, and there is only one size....unless you are talking a roush or something. roush stage one only has appearance and i think some suspension stuff so it could be that....stage 2 or 3 would dominate the hell out of you and the saleens would just own you too, so are you sure it wasn't the optional stock hood scoop?
I dunno I've seen a few mustang GT's around town with hood scoops that are larger than the rest, so I know what he's talking about, unless its just a popular aftermarket hood.
*edit: after seeing the pic it looks like the normal hoodscoop...

that is the optional stock hood scoop.
well it depends... could have been an auto, could have been a bad driver. the gt with EQUAL drivers should come out on top with a stick and be right about even maybe a bit ahead with an auto, but it's close enough to make driver critical from a roll.

LOL, the gt500 doesn't have a hood scoop, it has the vents ya know kinda like an evo does... that would be like 30 lengths out in front LOL.
I played with more than a few S197 Mustang GT's in my SS/SC both while stock and Stage 2.
When stock I would get killed from a dig, from a roll it was a close race. With Stage 2 it was close from a dig and from a roll I would have 3-4 cars by 100mph.
In stock form the SOHC 4.6 be it a 1999 or 2007 has a very weak top end.

Looks like a GT/CS... anyways... stock the new 'stang is putting roughly 270 to the wheels... if you got a jump on the driver and if it was an automatic I can definately see you winning... those things are heavy huge pigs. Off the line they're fast... but going from a roll is our strength.
I'm surprised that some Mustang owner hasn't trolled on here yet.
They would **** a brick by someone claiming a Cobalt SS/SC beat their precious car
Good race though. I would attribute your win to that driver sucking ***** more than the cobalt being better though.

Yeah there are 2 mustangs exactly like that around here. Haven't had the chance to race either of them but I'd probably beat both. I beat an 06 GT at the track last year and boy was he pissed. He didn't even pick his slip up and just left the track lol
yeah but you aren't stock.
The car you raced was a GT/CS as some one already posted. Nothing real special about them, apperance pkg. and special interior. An 05+ GT is good for mid-high 13s. Good run none the less.
