Raced Stage 1 SRT-4

me and a friend of mine that owns a 2005 SRT-4 stage 1 was coming back from the drag races tonight. He also has a wastegate I think it is set for around 17 lbs right now. But anyways we was coming back and he got up beside me, I had beat him at the track not by time but by reaction time and getting out of the hole quicker than he did, and he wanted a rematch. We both slowed down to 40mph which allowed for me to put it in 2nd which I consider our kill gear for roll races he was in 2nd as well. From the punch I had him I was pulling him decently then around about 95ish or so he was gaining speed on me. This was to be expected since the srt-4's seem strong in 3rd. Though I was very surprised to even be able to keep up with his car. I have stage 2 and full exhaust.

s1 srt's arent really that big of a deal..it gives the 05 maybe about extra 10hp or so..since 05's come wit diffrent injectors than the 03-04,and have little more hp output that the older srt4's...only good part about the s1 on the srt is alot of ppl use the ecu to tune for a big turbo since s1 ecu is a good tunable ecu..

s1 kit is only ecu and injectors

but good kill anyways

Good deal man. They go into 4th way sooner then we do. Our redlines are higher by a little bit. I've raced a couple, and the one with Stg1 and a couple other small mods was my best run. We were neck and neck the whole time. I actually started to slowly pull towards the end, but I have a couple more mods then you.

Nice run man

The Stg1's are better then the Stg2's...The stg2's have a bad tune from what I hear. Tunes on the Stg1's are better. I walked about a car to car and a half on a Stg2

Thing that sucks is tonight all I was able to pull was a 14.5 at 98 with a 2.3 60', got to realize though I live at a high elevation. Don't know if you have ever heard of Thunder Valley in Bristol, TN or not....the last race I was threatned by a turd gen camaro that if I beat him he would kick my ass..well I beat him by about 2 secs...did I get my ass kicked...no

wat i knw for a fact,if im not mistaken,05's come with s1 injectors..thats why when u put a s1 kit from a 03-04 srt on a 05,some kind of cel will pop up since ur just swappin out ecu's

It's possible, I don't know the difference between the years. I just know that the guy with the Stg1 that I was nose and nose with said that the Stg2 tunes sucked ass. I can believe what he was saying cause I put a car to car and a half on the Stg2.

Not possible. A S1 SRT-4 would ass rape your car, plain and simple, no question about it. Done [/THREAD]

Just kidding dude. LOL

Honestly, good race. I can easily see a S2 SS/SC keeping up with a S1 SRT-4 with a WGA. That combo puts the SRT-4 around 250 whp say ball park. Maybe alittle more, maybe alittle less due to not properly tuning it. Knock Retard FTL.

S2 on an SRT-4 isn't a bad PCM. It is the guys that don't know what they are doing with it and not watching what their computer is doing and tuning around it that give it a bad name. Hell, I am S2 and I rape other S1 and S2 SRT-4's along with a bunch of other cars that I won't go into. If you just slap S2 on the car and go with no other mods then it will give a performance increase but not exactly what you are looking for.

For that you need some additional mods to get the max out of it. Fuel Computer for one. Exhaust, Fuel, good wastegate actuator, maybe even some meth injection. People say that S2 pulls timing and you don't get the extra timing that you get with the other PCMs but I have been able to get as much as 35* TA on my car with Meth injection at 23 psi on the turbo. My turbo flows more than the stocker but isn't a big turbo. It is a modified TD04. Same compressor housing but larger compressor wheel and a mild clip to the exhaust turbine. Again it all comes down to how people have the car setup and how they tune it and what they watch the PCM do and then tune around that.

Alot of times people get fed up and just ditch it. Hey to each their own. But I had S1 and I could not tune around the issues I had with that with not being able to boost over 18 psi or the computer would pull timing. I was done. Sold it and went S2.

Anyway, just giving some information on tuning the SRT-4 and different setups and Stages.

Again good race. I got alot of admiration for the SS/SC. Good luck.

Oh, and rep give to you. Cheers.

04-05 SRT's have the same size injectors

03 was the year without the LSD as well.

yup, and the only CEL that an 03-04 S1 PCM will throw on a 05 car will be a battery temp sensor CEL. The 05's did away with that.

So if you can stand to have your CEL on all the time then you can do that.

stage 1 in an srt can be decieving sometimes.
there are very few truely just S1 SRT4s
they can be taken ALOT further than this +10hp estimate on stage 1.

Stage 1 is just a pcm

So if its a Stage 1 SRT4 its 10+hp

If its a Stage 1, w/ 3"TBE, CAI, FMIC, Return Line, Mapclamp, etc it can an easy 280+whp.

what orlando said.

There are very few straight up Stage 1, 2, or 3 cars out there. Most are probably modified versions of those original PCM upgrades. If someone tells you they are S_, then my next question to them would be what other mods do you have?

You could have a S1 50 Trim turbo car racing you with 450 whp.

+rep for you man. He's a good friend of mine so all he has done is the wastegate, and S1 no exhaust or intake or anything of the likes. The best he could run was a 14.3 at 96, but as said Bristol track just blows its too high up and they never prep it for Street Fights. I was happy with my 14.5 at 98 haha. Though the race we had I was surprised I figured he would ass rape me, but it was pretty even.
