SRT4 vs the world, 1/2 mile racing.
Well, not cobalt related, sadly. There were only 100 spots available for this 1/2 mile racing event. My car was actually the only FWD in the field, and on the low end of the HP range.
But, got some good video runs in and wanted to share. The SRT is making around 460whp on a modified Stage 3 setup, fully built motor, e85. With the extra RPM and big tires, it can do 160mph in 4th gear. Enjoy!
Just found this last video. The guy wanted a 40 roll, but accelerated so slow i didn't know what he was doing, until he launched right past me while i slept. Still got him.

Car was pretty consistent with best runs of 155.6 and 155.8. Couple 153-154 with late starts or slow shifts to 3rd.
I regret not racing a few more cars there (i was intimidated i admit). There was a stock C7z, a 5th gen Viper, and an Aventador all running mid 150s.
For anyone wondering, the GT500 was a consistent 158mph car.

Were you there last weekend? Not this weekend of no fly zone but the weekend before? Does it have a bunch of chrome and lights under the hood? I remember seeing one lit up.

Very cool! Nice work out there. This is my favorite type of racing, so much fun. I need to get back down to AZ again next fall, love it down there. Went to the meet at the Pavillions (I think that's what it was called) and then went down to Tucson and went to some meets and races there. Was a blast!

Thought i'd re-use this thread for some more races. There was another 1/2 mile event last weekend called race wars. I'd been working as quickly as possible to change turbo setups and get it tuned in time. It's not fully tuned, but it's faster than the previous setup.
Their timing setup sucked, so i'm not sure of my top speed through the traps. Probably over 160, though. Got only 2 runs on gopro, but my clutch pivot rod started to break so i stopped my racing for the day.
