The SRT is my brother's car, he ran 13.8@102 when he was stock. How much faster are the newer ones?

that should take more then a airbox mod and a BOV...

How do you figure that?? Guys with Cobalt SS S/C's have dyno'd a few extra HP just by changing the air filter to a K&N unit. Stop trying to make the SRT-4 look better than it is

Thats because a Cobalt is completely different that a SRT. Sorry but this time he lost, last time he won.

Intake on a Cobalt = +10hp

Intake on a SRT-4 = +10db of useless noise

actually when he ran that, there was nothing done to the car, he may have had the air filter out. his 60' time was 2.0....

and the cobalt had 1 passenger and over a 1/2 tank gas, the SRT was just the driver. last week when we raced, I was E, not sure how much difference that would have made, though.

IM gonna post vids of me and my bro with and without a passenger and let you guys see the dead even without the passenger and the 3-6 car ownage with a passenger.... (from a 40 roll)

I have to find a day when my brother is off so we can make it, should be this week.

Edit, actually I think I have one I will look for it tongiht.

Where did he say there was a K&N in his car? He said no AIRBOX

Cobalt with no airbox= cold air intake
SRT-4 with no airbox= warm air intake / noise maker

I wish i could have just pulled my air box off and make power

First of all chill out.

No Airbox means zero restriction, which almost always provides at least some HP gains. I doubt the SRT-4 air intake system is designed from the factory to be low restriction, so even factoring in the slightly warmer air (its wintertime) it should still provide a few more ponies.

You are right the stock airbox is only good till 350-400 Wheel Horse Power before it becomes restrictive.

Not a bad run, I was surprised you managed to stop his pull in 3rd gear.

It also sounds like you were in 3rd at the beginning and then dumped it back to 2nd when the race started. If so, bad idea. This costs valuable time.
