He wanted to run them. Its basically his beater right now, but dropping it off to a shop this summer in South Jersey to rebuild the motor, upgrade APEX seals, then boost. He'll get his rematch, lol. I won't be BT till at least end of the year.

haha those things are slow as *****. raced a few of them myself. good on him for trying though

did i see you stop and block both lanes to race on a single lane road with a double solid yellow on a slight bend? i see alot of driveways and **** turning onto that road as well. recipe for disaster if someone pulls out into the oncoming lane.. just sayin probably not the best place to race..

I live here. I think I know the area better then you, bud. lol

A 4 way stop was behind us about a tenth of a mile with solid visibility. The road only has two places for traffic to pull out. One is clearly visible, the other rarely used. I've lived in the area for 24 years. Street racing is street racing. Danger is inherent.

The point was that anywhere you street race is dangerous. Please, explain how that's wrong?

We are all aware street racing is dangerous but I think the point we are trying to make is that you can decrease the risk of danger by choosing how and where you race more carefully.

you can't tell me you don't have a two lane highway somewhere in your area so you don't have to pace a guy in oncoming traffic on the other side of a solid "do not pass" line. There is a reason for it being there. it's a recommendation that it isn't a good spot to be in the oncoming lane let alone race in it..

you do know what calculated risk is don't you?

Probably because we had just come off of a long corner onto a straight away. I understand what you are getting at, but perhaps I know the road a little better then someone who see's clips of it on a video.

this is why I never race on the street anymore. I only do it at the track. it sucks because i miss alot of opportunities but its 100% safer that way.

I live in a town of 829 people. I grew up here. I know what roads are for racing. This is the best back road down here for a mix of being a wide open straight away, having little traffic, and no cops. Out of all the places we race around here, this is arguably one of the safest spots to run.

Exactly. Their are things you can do to minimize risk.

You're the moron if you think all street racing is equally dangerous. Is street racing with traffic around you as dangerous as without traffic. Is street racing at a place with street lights as dangerous as a place without lights?
Let me guess, yoi quote fast and furious everyday and compare yourself to vin diesel. Pull your head out of your ass

This Video is nothing compared to some of the other stupid videos put up by the some of the kids on this site. Like splitting an unaware civilian between two cars going 100+ on a 45-55 MPH road, you guys know which video I'm talking about. As long as your not around me when you're doing it, I'm fine. I'm a big believer in learning from your mistakes, in this case it's death or losing your driver's license. You know the risks, good luck!

The RX-8 wasn't built for speed, but amazing handling. If your buddy is looking for straight line speed, there are much better options out there for how much money he'll be dumping into that thing. Most bolt-on turbo kits for those won't even get them into the 12's.

IF that was my friend in the rx8 I wouldn't even waste my gas running him. I'd tell him to save the $10 for another renisis when that one grenades. Turbo an rx8? Worse mileage than a corvette at WOT and about the reliability of a 90's chrysler.
