18 inch Steelies?

I've had my LNF since 09 and every winter I've tried getting 18 inch steelies with no luck. Howe said he could get them but he is unresponsive these days, to all who know him. Anybody?

No. You need alloy wheels.

You're best off finding SC or 17" SS/NA wheels.

Even 18" steel won't clear the brembos. Either 17" ssna or 18"sssc are your best cheap choices for them.
Depending what year and car the 18" come off they may or may not clear the brembos. The 17" should with barely a mm to spare. Ether way a 5mm spacer would be the best bet.

With the IRL 17's they clear the bremos without spacers by about 1.5mm, def recommend the 5mm spacers for added safety. Just another option that hasn't been mentioned.

I bought a set of 17 borbet LV5's that worked great. Just really never drove the car in the snow. I bought them with blizzak WS50's mounted from the tire rack so I could use the car in an emergency as an extra car. I did not need spacers to clear the brembos.

Also vouch for the Borbet LV5 clear Brembo no problem. 205/50/17 tires from tirerack are plentiful and cheap. Just ordered 2 general Altima's arctic for $240 here next day. Wheels I got from a junkyard with 2 rear tires for $160. $400 winter setup I'm happy

17 ssna rims either clear by a mm or so or don't clear at all for some reason.
I think the reason some 18" clear was dependent on weather it was a cobalt rim or an impala ss/ montecarlo ss rim.
My 18" ss sc rims off an 06 aren't even close yet I have seen other 18" clear by a mm or so.
Even wit a 5'mm spacer mine only cleared by 2mm.

The irl rims def clear though.

Whether the rim fits or not depends on the spoke design and the back spacing. To fit, the rim must have a convex spoke design and plenty of offset to get the rim away from the caliper.
