dont do it... it will ride shitty, and will buldge in the middle... go with 225/45/18
plus the hight difference will mess with you anti lock brakes... not good

Go with the 235/40R18s! They work fine on stock wheel, mine are not wearing bad in the center and do not bludge. I've had them on for 20 000kms so far and it's all good.

well if there isnt any bulge you would be fine, but if it crowns some, not all the tread will have full contact on the street
225s are closer to the stock hight
225s are closer to the stock hight

If that is ture then why does http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp say different?
235/40R18 = Diameter Difference: 0.82%
225/45R18 = Diameter Difference: 1.39%
235/40R18 = Diameter Difference: 0.82%
225/45R18 = Diameter Difference: 1.39%

tires vary in size, some brands are different than others
as long as you dont go +/- 3% of original stock size you should be fine

I run 245/40 18's all around and hve ZERO problems. Their over all diameter is very close to the stockers and no it doesn't hurt the ABS at all. For it to screw with the ABS you'd need to run 2 very different tires height wise from front to rear.
That calculater is a little off depending on the manufacturer of the tires. When you compair the bigger size tire go off what the manufacturer of the tire says it is. When I compaired my 245's they came out to be not quite .5 mph off but this link says its off by way more.
