Jerome Avenue is one of the longest thoroughfares in the New York City borough of the Bronx, New York, United States. The road is 5.6 miles (9 km) long and stretches from Highbridge general area to Woodlawn. Both of these termini are with the Major Deegan Expressway which runs parallel to the west. Most of the elevated IRT Jerome Avenue Line runs along Jerome Avenue. The Cross Bronx Expressway interchanges with Jerome and the Deegan. Though it runs through territory now known as the West Bronx Jerome Avenue is the dividing avenue between the nominal 'West' and 'East' streets in the Bronx; 5th Avenue serves Manhattan in the same capacity.

Jerome Avenue was put together as a plank road in 1874 for $375,000.[2] It appeared on maps as Central Avenue, because it started from Macombs Dam Bridge to Jerome Park Racetrack. Borough President Louis F. Haffen selected contractors in 1897 to pave Jerome Avenue. Three sections of the road were to be remodeled, costing the Bronx about $136,505

In 2002!! LOL
report:
As drivers edge toward Manhattan on the Cross Bronx Expressway, official highway signs direct them toward places like Yankee Stadium, the Bronx Museum of the Arts and Bronx-Lebanon Hospital. This summer, someone decided one more South Bronx attraction was worth plugging, and up went two very visible, very unofficial green-on-white signs that read: ''Auto Glass Shops: Exit Jerome Avenue.''

A dozen auto glass shops sit just off Exit 2A, where a replacement for a taillight or a windshield can be picked from thousands of used parts that hang from chain-link fences and are stacked on shelves.

The signs, which direct drivers to a decidedly downtrodden stretch under the elevated No. 4 train that also includes mechanics and used-car dealers, started a buzz among the businesses, but no one knows who put them up. At least, no one is fessing up.

''They've been up two and a half months, and no one knows where they came from,'' said Joey Santiago, whose family has run Best Auto Glass for 20 years.

That little open area at the CBX westbound (I-95 southbound) and Jerome avenue is the site of many a car stripping/fire/hot dog roast. Couldn't tell you how many nights I drive past that and saw a car or multiple cars being stripped or torched. It's right there that my brand new RTLO18718 literally split a mainshaft. Not a comfortable place to have that happen.

I cant imagine what sort of defect was in that transmission to cause that ; the engineers call it "infant mortality". lol

Mine was the 13th Cat 550/1850 KW to roll off the line. As if the number weren't an indicator, huh? All the first few of them had issues of some sort. Both KW and Eaton were unprepared for that kind of torque. They delayed our builds several times re-engineering for the things all that kind of torque broke in pre-production.

Its ok, probably the 245/45-17 have the same diamenter (more or less) than the 255/35-18. If you are not rubbing on that setup, that's good news to me.

I know that I don't need the 255 to look flush, but it is just the size that I want. But either 245 or 255, I need to know what rim's width and offset i need to have a perfectly looking flush wheel

no offense you cant count a slick for rubbing issues even without coilover. treadware makes up extra difference. i did a set of 295 hoosier a6 on a solstice once... pulled the quarters to clear... let me just tell you when i did the 295s again but this time pirelli corsa or whatever they are.... the pulley had to be about another quarter to half inch further out at the same ride height. it does make a difference.

the cobalts big problem is more or so the rear then the fronts.

Your car looks beautiful like that. 35mm offset? What's the width of the rim?

i already said that the offset is +35mm. 18x8.75. you need to be hub swapped to run the wheels i have. like i said i helped the guy with the yellow car get to where he is as not many people run my setup.

also i run a XL tire and you need to roll the rear quarters flush in the back. the gm paint is absoutely CRAP so more times then none you will crack the paint in doing so inside the quarter panel where the lip is. ive rolled numerous quarters and managed to crack mine on one side with heat and all.

then we'll swap the hubs to get those rims, unless I decide to get the forgestar which they are custom and i can get any offset and width I want
I love those rims but I hope they come in silver or chrome, otherwise nothing
