Another all-season tire post. (Extremecontact DWS 06, BF

I've been combing through the tire posts (there are plenty, and I've probably missed what I'm looking for) looking for some information or if anyone has had any experience with either the Continental Extremecontact DWS 06 (Successor to the DWS) or the BF Goodrich G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S. From what I can tell, they both seem to be newer to the market.

Living in Ohio, and not wanting to go with the summer/winter tire combo, the ultra-performance (all season) category seems to be my next best option.

I'm also open to suggestions for tires that I didn't mention. Also, if anyone who is reading this is in the Central Ohio area and has a go-to place for getting the tires mounted (will probably order from TireRack), please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

They seem like a solid option. From what I've read, the DWS seems pretty popular in the Cobalt community.

I don't know how they compare in terms of grip, I can only say tha the BFG Comp2 AS *looks* like it'd be better in the snow.

Exclamation

See the results of our initial test drive here, where we compared the new DWS06 to the outgoing DWS.

Comparison test data against BF Goodrich, Goodyear and others will be posted online in the next few weeks ! (Spolier alert; the new Conti proven to be a worthy successor to the throne !)

Here are the comp 2 a/s. I've only driven from the shop and to the airport, so not too much input on them yet, but hopefully will get some decent time on them this weekend.

Those are the Continental DW's, not DWS' - the DW's are for Dry and Wet only, no snow usage.

Well, got back from the airport, and it seems that one of my tires isn't holding air very well as it was down to about 17psi. Going to have to make an appointment today/this weekend to see what that is all about.

Good news! Turns out to have been a valve/tpms sensor that wasnt tight, so hopefully no more leaks.

Had the DWS and had no problems. They were great on dry and wet roads, though never tried them in the snow.

Thats not true at all. You havent tried these Continental DWS tires before, that much I can tell. These things work surprisingly well in light snow (2-4 inches).
