Anyone Got 18x10 Wheels to Work?
Been thinking about going with 18x10 wheels. Wondering if anyone has done it yet. If so what was your back spacing and rubbing issues. I know Scott Herbert has run wide tires on 8.5 wheels. Looking forward to the replies.

I don't know of anyone that has...unless the purpose built track cars do and I'm just not aware of it. You can probably count the number of people with 9 inch wheels on your fingers let alone 10 inch.

Jeeeeezuss....
No need for something that big... I have 18x8s with a 35 offset and 225/40s...there aint too much clearance left with that. you'd have to have some skinny ass tires.

...i got a full set of 225/40s for 320 mounted and balanced out the door.my 225s sit flush on my 8s. now the 215/40 KDW2's I had...those were stretched and tread cupped...

Right now I am running 255/40/17 on a 17x8 wheel for scca. I run in DSP which has unlimited wheel width. I know 17x9.5 fit, they fit the on the Time attack Cobalt and Qwikredline was running them on his Redline, he also built the Time Attack Cobalt. I just wondering in that extra 1/2" would be problematic. Will be running 255/35/18 Hoosiers next year and was trying to eliminate as much tire pinch as possible.

thinking of a new tire/wheel setup
OK been thinking of getting serious about redline time attack. Autocross is great fun but time for more speed. Track days are great but I really like the competition. So, that brings me to time attack. The stock rules state FWD drive cars have no limit on tire size. I was thinking of going Enkei RPF-1s 17x10 with 295/30-17s with wheel adapters of coarse. ScottHerbert fit his 285s with minimal mods. So, am I just crazy? What do you guys think?

remember offset.. if u get a high enough offset.. were talkin +50 u may be able to stuff that in the well with just a little poke.. also another aspect that can help is getting a two piece rotor and hat..
for example : wilwood rotors obviously dont make rotors for LSJ Stock brakes off the shelf.. what u can do is find rotor widths and overall diameter and match the stock rotor ur running.. the important part to this is u buy the willwood rotor hat next with a thin wall design ( the sport Hat) this has a thinner hub than a stock rotor essentially moving the wheel in towards the middle of the car bc the wheel mounts closer to the knuckle of the wheel assembly.. essentially adding room for a wider wheel.. or lower offset wheel if someones going for a bigger lip

I'll have a crazy wheel combo soon but since I've owned the balt I had a kid bought a house and remodeled the entire thing. So, car projects keep getting pushed off. Gotta do it this winter though.

Damn, we all just need to quit running our mouths about this and do it! lol I've been trying to collect info on the hub conversion. Looks like the Timkin hub assembly is the way to go. They're a consistent thickness all the way around so, drilling would be no problem. Not sure if the rears are the same though.

18X 10 does work. Have had them for many years. Stock wheels with 225 spin at 55 mph under current setup. running anywhere from 245 up to 285 on 10 in rim there is no wheel spin on racetrack.
I do not remember the wheels but I can look around if you still want some 10 in.
I am very happy with wheels. CCW are 3 piece wheels and are prone to leak; I have had 3 sets. The wheels on the cobalt are one piece and have no leak problems, and if I remember they were much cheaper than CCW. I believe I paid about $250 each.
