Angry Curb Check :(

So I was making a U turn in a parking lot today. Didn't have as much room as I thought. Not only did my right front tire hit the curb but it also went up on the curb as well. When I got to Walgreens, I checked out the damage. I hit pretty good. Scrapped up the rim, but it should buff out okay... However...

The Goodyear Eagle Sport took sidewall damage. I need a new tire. These tires I JUST got back in November, so they are still fairly new, but also have several thousand miles on them, so its not like I can just replace one. That sucks

I really don't think you will be able to just buff out that damage to the rim.

That would suck if I can't.
Why not?

Good news is the tire held proper pressure overnight. So the damage to the rim didn't ruin the seal of the tire.

You should be able to sand and buff that out, you'll have to pull the tire off the rim and get it recoated

You will still need to replace the tire with the damage to the side wall.

Yes, I got the tire replaced. Both front tires replaced, so that the treat wear is even. Once I get more established in my new location/town and find a good rim shop, I can have them rework the rim.
