what AaronJ said... If this isnt wider than 8" than I would much rather just go with the PF01. No need for a custom rim if it isnt providing me some advantage over a rim they already make and also, IMO, looks better.

I agree with that we already have plenty 18x8 options. Per the size chart http://www.enkei.com/size_chart/RPF1.pdf we should be fine with 18x8.5 +40, 18x9 +35 or 18x9.5 +38. Then again my car isn't lowered as much as others. Possibly 18x9.5 +45 but not sure about the spacing inside.
This site gives a decent visual representation of the size differences.

*edit: I am kinda pulling these numbers out my ass. I only have a general idea about fitment so don't bash too hard.

I personally don't think you guys will want to buy custom wheels that you will have to run a spacer on? This is why I think the 18x9 will be out of the question, you will have to run a crazy offset just to clear your Brembos, this will lead to you guys needing to do a lot of fender work.
So right now we are looking at:
- 18x8 +45 (I know a lot of you don't like it but we know it will fit.)
- 18x8.5 +40 or +30
- 18x9 +? (I will see if anything in a 9" will fit.)
- 18x9.5 +? (Also going to see if anything in this size will fit)
Thanks for being so patient guys. I know this is something you all want, I am trying my best to make this happen for you guys. It is a a lot of work that I am doing on the side. If you guys can wait I will get you guys something you want!

OK, so I have some updates. Enkei is not willing to help us find out what fit's and what wont fit. We need to find out what we need to make the 18x8.5 or 18x9.5 fit. I don't know your guys car that well but I am going to take a look at ssyellow's car when I get a chance and make some measurements and make a decision as to if we can possibly make it fit.
thanks again for the help and if you guys can help out in any other way it would be great! Any input would be great!

This is all good information, all you guy's are great help! I understand wanting to go with a wider wheel. I also agree, I am just trying to find out what fit's and what wont. I my self don't own a Cobalt SS but I am just trying to help you guy's out so I am doing all the research I can to see what fit's your guys cars and what wont.

I already have wheels but if i was going to be part of this i would want a 18 or 17x9 with a +35 and then TC's could add the spacer they need in the front to clear. +35 would be close to flush or easy to make flush.
