I know it's the shape of the spokes, that's why I'm trying to get as much info on this wheel as possible given the clearance issue with Brembos. The fact that he was previously running 17's had me second guessing the size since most 17's won't fit over our Brembos.

So it's an 18x9 +35 with a 15mm spacer. It looks so damn sexy, but I don't like the sound of a 15mm spacer since I intend to track my car.

So close and yet so far..... Leaning towards an 18x8+35 again.

I don't suppose Oakos could get some spoke profile templates for the 18x8.5 +35? Since it's the only size we haven't had on a car yet.

At least some baseline dimentions we could use to make wheel fitment templates. Even tracing the outline on a piece of paper would work.

The engineer in me wants to make use of the fact that I have SolidWorks and an LNF staring me in the face all day.

We know an 18x8 +45 will work with a 5mm spacer, it's been done before. We also know an 18x9 +35 will work, although with a larger 15mm spacer. If we can see what an 18x8.5 +30mm spoke profile looks like over the LNF caliper, we will know for sure what will and won't work, so we can pick one and get to the next step.

I get sad when I click on this thread. Someday I'll do a hub swap and get cool wheels.

It's difficult to settle on a size when we don't know definitively what will and won't actually fit on the car.

For all you cheap bastards that want wheels, and the fact that this will never happen. Aspecwheels on eBay makes a replica rpf1 in 18x8.5 +40, run a 5mm spacer and be +35. They re-drill to 5x110 580shipped.
