All I did was 2 wheels so far . What a damn difference . The clear on the wheels is as shiney as the clear on the car now . I used 1000 grit , then 1500 grit , then meguires show car glaze , then Eagle nanowax . When I wet sanded I used meguires NXT qwik detail for a lubricant . The finish looks much much better now .

That looks friggen awesome dude. Though I imagine it looks goofy with just two done. Kinda like the time I used tire shine on only the drivers side of my moms car.

So thats all you did is wet sand it w/ those grit sandpapers and w/ the lubricant and then used the wax and they turned out like that, hmmm I might have a new project for my next day off

The stock wheels are clear coated . Wet sanding just smooths out the clear . After you sand its very dull , so you need to be capable of polishing the shine back out . 1500 and 1000 grit paper isnt very abrasive though ....I polished the wheels back out by hand . If i woulda used a coarser grit , it woulda looked better , but I probably would have needed a rotary buffer to get it back to where I wanted . I did it at work too and didnt have all my detail stuff their . It could have looked better by using better polish too . Like say 3m perfect it 2 , followed by zaino polish . I will prolly go back over em with those 2 . As far as color , not it didnt effect the darkness of the gunmetal at all . All it did was bring out the vibrance in the stock wheel paint .

Key is to not sand to much , the clear is really thin ....especially on the edges .

Thanks for the compliments

When I do the other 2 , I can take one off and compare . I wish I could find another SS in town though . The diff on my wheels wont be as dramatic because the other 2 have been polished and waxed numerous times and are already a quite a bit shinier than stock .

I will just do a "how to" when I do the other 2 wheels . Wet sanding takes alot of patience , if ya go to wild you can go thru the clear .
