Kumho tires

Hi everyone. Right now my G5 is on the stock steelies and 205/60/15 Firestone Precision Touring tires. In other words, it looks bad and doesn't grip at all. My dad works at the local GM dealer and manager to pick up a set of 16" Pontiac Mag wheels for pretty cheap, and I'm looking to wrap them with some sort of high performance all season tires. Tire Rack's ratings have me really considering Kumho Ecsta PA31's. I live in Pennsylvania, so being able to handle light snow is important. Has anyone had any experience with these tires, or is anyone able to recommend another high performance all season which will be able to handle some light snow? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I had the Ecsta 4x and they weren't all that great in snow. Those look like they would d better in the snow though with a trade off in the dry.

Hmm.. If only my rears were a bit better I'd keep the 15 inch steelies for snow driving, but I'm not really sure now. I'll do some more research on my options.

If you have two sets and are content with a 16'' summer wheel then run winter and summer tires, so much better. You can get winters used pretty cheap.

The Kumho PA31's have a nice price that's tough to beat, but you could consider the General AltiMAX RT43 if you wanted a little more snow traction and a little longer expected life......assuming you're going to use 205/50R17

I always heard good things about the Conti DWS, though not sure if they have the size you're looking for.

Kuhmos are only a tire in name. The Extreme Contact DWS tires are the way to go if you want quality high performance all-seasons
