Looking for new wheels.

Hey Everyone,
I'm abit confused on new rims.

Tirerack.com seems to say my car has factor 18" Rims. But when I measure them with a measuring tape they measure out to 19 1/2 " diameter.

Also, different rims talk about diffrent offsets. What offset is the factory ones?

Thanks
-Jonathan

your factory wheels should be 18x7 with a +42mm offset.

This has the information you need: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/whee...-read-me-8149/

Enkei makes fairly good wheels that are a little wider and will fit well. Due to the 5x110 it's fairly difficult to find wheels.

Thanks for the info,
Looking at Tirerack the common size seems to be 18x8 and some 18x7.5s. Wish it would let me sort by size. Would 18x8s work okay? Would I need a diff set of tires for them? What about different offsets? 40mm seems to be the most common. YOu'd think Tirerack would have a way to check JUST the one size you need, or have a waytoput in what size options you want and that way you woudln't have to sift through all their 18" wheel sizes.

check out some other sites like thm motorsports they are a vendor on here and sell enkeis. also look at msr wheels they sell 17s and 18s for our cars and discountiredirect.com also has a nice selection. the common wheel for our cars are the 18x8 for aftermarket with an offset of 40 or 42

LOoks like they only sell them in 18x7.5 or 18x8. No 18x7 (I think we have 18x7 from what I understand)

I wonder though,
If I should just start a new thread call it "Attention CSS Vendors" and then post what I'm looking for and see what offers I get.

well that shouldn't matter too much. you can go to an 18x7.5 or even 18x8. You will just need some wider tires unless you dont mind some stretch.

Wider tires... that means more contact with the road... hmmm...

I hope I have the clearence in the wheel well though. I have the GM Perforamnce Competitave knuckles, and those lowered me about 1/2" to 1" in the front.

From my research, the most you will want to go is 18x8 without any rubbing. Anything above that will give you issues

mind you, this was all LNF research I found so I cannot speculate on the LSJ

Ok so I Just turned the steering all the way to the stop. I used this tool
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/tire_rim_calculator.php

IT tells me that I'll have just less then 1/2" clearance less then what I have now. So I checked and I DO have the room for it. So looks like 18x8s it is.
THanks
Now to find some good Rims/ Tires. Any reccomendations?
