Need grip
Ok guys and gals I have a question. I need suggestions on what tire to get. I am soon to be turbo'd as some of y'all know and I need more grip. Yes I know its fwd and high power fwd suck at traction, but I need some good suggestions. I am on stock ss/sc rims. Let me hear y'alls thoughts.

I have the Nitto's 555 and have been running them for about a year. They're 235/40 18. Top notch dry traction, but wet traction is kind of crappy. There is virtually no sidewall flex which is great for handling in the dry. If it rains and your turn is a little too quick the tires will slide. The stock Continental's were better in the wet just to give you an idea.
I paid $500 for a set of 4. For the money, they’re worth it. Tread life seems great so far as well. My next set I think I’m going to go with the top dog Michelin Pilot sport's after being wow’ed with the Michelin Alpin’s I have been using this winter.

Dunlop star specs all the way! If you plan on any sort of auto-x or want great grip! I live in northern WA and it rains every other day and they do fine, when its dry they grip and grip and grip!

If you don’t have a lot of money to spend on tires, yes.
Everyone loves the Z1 Star Spec (Dunlop has superseded the old Z1’s with a new model now simply called Z2). I’ve driven with those as well. They’re expensive and have the best grip money can buy. No one talks about the tread life. My tires were bald after 10k miles and I didn’t go to the track on those.

This is from Nitto's website: (prices for 225-40 18)
Tire................Treadwear / traction / temperature / est price/tire
Nitto NT555.......... 300/ A / A / $130
Nitto NT05............ 200/ AA / A / $160
Nitto NT01............ 100/ AA / A / $198
For comparison:
Hoosier R6............ 40 / AA / A / $340
These numbers speak for themselves. I've had both NT05 and NT01 and can tell you the latter provides way more grip but obviously at a cost. I got a third set of wheels and switched to NT05 for the street and NT01 for the track
