New shoes - NT555 G2

Just got some NT555 G2's on the balt today. Haven't seen anyone post about them yet so I figured I should be the first. Going out testing tonight to see how traction is. haven't even driven them yet. Waiting to get off work. Will update in t-minus 3 hours.

For reference I had on Mickey Thompson street comps prior to these and I would spin clear through first, second and sometimes third depending.

Bolted LNF on E47

The UHP or whatever MTs suck. I have them now. Great for about 1000 miles and then mays we'll have the traction of an all season.

Yeah, mine were good when they had 7\32 on them, got to about 5\32 and they stopped working lol

Super stoked for the G2s. Been waiting for a while for these. They feel pretty soft so I hope they last the 320 rating they have.

If you're "spinning" third on a stock turbo LNF on e47. It is 100% your clutch.

I would say it's the tune, not the clutch, plus slick tires. I don't spin 3rd ever but have good tires and a good boost ramped tune from a reputable tuner. Spinning only slows you down in time.

Lol, you act like I don't know what a slipping clutch feels like. Definitely tire, not clutch. I even have a video proof.

Albeit was rather cold out. But mashing it at 4k AFTER my boost ramp is over caused tire spin.

If going 1-2-3 top of each it will NOT spin 3rd. Too high rpm, too much speed.

Edit: Here's the video just for you. Ignore the music and keep in mind this was before my tune was dialed in with boost ramping. That was all she had at 3200

Im also tuned by a reputable tuner with boost ramp, very aggressive boost ramp as it sits for track use. The one thing my old tires were good at was sticking to a track after they were warmed up a tad. however still not enough grip to get me under 2.3 60ft though I wouldn't even spin 2nd on the strip.

I'm on Full E85 and I don't even spin 3rd. I'm close to bouncing off the rev limiter in 2nd though.

Did Steve tune you? He's a local Ecotec tuner here in AZ.

Yes jacob. Steve tuned me. I don't think you knew this was Landan.

Verdict on the tires: 1st gear is actually usable. Second wants to hop and skip but ultimately holds without excessive wheel spin and 3rd grip enough to make my clutch hate itself. All in all. In the 30 minutes I was able to torture them they are a solid 9/10 and is definitely buy again

I just installed a 4.45 trans so I will only be in 1st gear a short time. Glad you like the tires.

I'm so tired of him. I hope Jeff swings by and deals with him.

My car spins third on the stock turbo as well. My clutch is rated for 550ft/lbs and has a few thousand miles on it. Guess it's 100% my clutch slipping and not the shitty MT's on the car tho.

Smh.

I don't understand why he hasn't learned more from just reading the threads. I'm glad people comment but you don't want to steer people the wrong way.

Damn I should have waited, just bought two new 555's. Seems like the 2's are a big improvement.

I have two good 555s in the garage; maybe I'll grab two 2's and run them on the front.

My mickeys suck

I got Nitto NT05 and I love them. Almost bought the 555 but I was spinning and ate through my continental extreme contact DWs. They were only 340 wear rating but it spun them right off in less than a year. With KMO43 tune and the nt05 I hope these get a little longer life.

Yeah the gen 1 555's kinda suck, much better than my old gmax garbage dollar store tires. Seem to hook a little better than Shaun's comp2's also. Would love to try the gen2's.

Was gonna try and order the direzza z2's or whatever they're called but the shop couldn't order them in

I was going to do nt05 but I drive too much and have a baby in my car 60% of the time.

I'll do Saab wheels and true slicks are spares.

Never had the old 555s. Just my MT street comps. These have a better wear rating than the old 555s and I got my g2s for 128 a piece. A steal imo.

I definitely recommend these. Best tires and value. But that's my opinion. Haven't tried these in the rain and being in az coming up on summer I don't think I'll be able to try them any time soon lol
