new tires/size

i want to get goodyear eagle f1 all season tires for my ss s/c. They dont offer 215/45/18 so i was wondering if i could use 225/45/18? would that effect my performance?

blacksssc05 01-29-2008 12:44 AM

nope thats what i have on my car right now

EceSSiveMod 01-29-2008 12:45 AM

the same tires also?

ItalianJoe1 01-29-2008 12:53 AM

Or you could go smaller, 225/40 or 235/40, if they offer either of those. That widens your choices quite a bit and looks great with a little less rubber showing but fills the fenders out better.

blacksssc05 01-29-2008 12:53 AM

not the same tires but the same size

UmeNNis 01-29-2008 12:54 AM

What is the absolutely widest tire i can fit on my stock Cobalt SS/SC rim? And any suggestions for a drag radial?

EceSSiveMod 01-29-2008 01:32 AM

well what would the difference in traction and what not be with 225/40's and 225/45's?

h0l0caust 01-29-2008 04:03 AM

probably no difference.

no traction diffrence, just better steerin response and feel the bumps better, and harsher ride

EceSSiveMod 01-29-2008 12:58 PM

so 225/40/18's would go just as good in the snow as 225/45/18's???????

zrated89 01-29-2008 01:00 PM

it has been stated that a 225/40/18 is the closest overall diameter compared to the stock size. and there is a ton more options. A lot cheaper as well.! I just ordered some and paid like 50 bucks a piece but i am a service manager and get the hook up
