Hey fellas. I'm new to the site and also a new Cobalt SS owner. I am looking to get new rims for my car and I was just wondering if you guys have had any problems with your 19s. What size tires do you recommend? Have you run into any rubbing issues? Any general advice will be appreciated.

Haven't had any problems with mine but I'm still on stock suspension, I'll be on progress springs here soon hopefully though. I'd recommend 225/35/19 as your tire size, especially if you're lowered.

I might go 19s as well. I can't find any 18s I like. This have been the toughest car I ever owned, as far as finding a nice set of wheels. I most often go for a black center with a polished or chrome lip. The center has to be a nice 5 spoke or 8 double spoke.

Yeah it's difficult finding what you want, I happened to get lucky and found someone selling some 19's that I really liked.

You just have to be willing to look and spend some extra money to get what you really want. It is not that hard to find wheels for these cars. It is just hard to find them for the price most cobalt owners want to pay.

How much lower were you able to go with your CO's as opposed to progress?

I put the CO's as low as they would go without removing any locking rings and still no issues.

But I have STD Suspension coilovers and they don't lower quite as much as Stance, HSD or the like.

I liked the progress springs but I like the CO's better. You'll be fine with the springs though if you don't wanna spend the money now, but your shocks/struts will need replacing eventually anyway. ;-)

Yeah, I did think about that. Already have 75k on the stockers, so it may just be a good idea to go with some coils

I still run around on my 19's. Just make sure your rear struts are good. The stock SC FE5 struts aren't very good. I personally have to replace mine. Fooling around with the new photobucket. I need to learn how to edit.
