Exclamation Service Traction Control and ABS

Just over a year ago I had to get 2 new tires. I didn't have much money and couldn't find a cheap pair of 205/55/R16. However I did find a pair or 205/60/R16. I put them on and almost instantly the traction control and ABS lights came on as well as the DIC saying "Service Traction". I'm assuming that it was because 2 of the 4 tires were a different size. On friday I finally changed out the original tires and got 2 more 205/60/R16 so all the tires are the same size, but the traction light and abs light still come on. What does that mean? Should I unhook the battery and reset the system? Is it a sensor? (God I hope not!!). Or should I just give it time to reset itself? Any help would be much appreciated.

Do a reset, once it relearns it should go away unless there has been further damage done.

May sound stupid, but did you make sure to plug in the sensor after replacing the tires? I had unplugged mine when replacing my springs and forgot to plug it back in.

I never unplugged anything when I replaced my tires. So I don't think that would be it. But just to be sure, where would it be located?

It could be wheel bearing issues. I had a bad wheel bearing and my ABS dash light was on. When I switched out my bearings, the light went out. Their are sensors built into the wheel bearing assemblies that had gone bad.

how much of a pain in the ass is that to change? or is it better to just have a mechanic do it? also yesterday the lights just went off for the whole day, then came on later in the night when i turned the car back on. it went through about 6 cycles of off and on without it turning back on.

Mine weren't on until I changed the bearing today. I am going to try a hard reset and then we will see.

Depends... 15 minutes to get the the wheel, caliper, and rotor off. The bolts are in a tough position. My assembly was pretty well corroded into the knuckle so i had to beat the **** out of it to get it out. Overall, I would say a 2 hour job or so.
