stretch and poke

im sure my answer is on here somewhere but I dont have time to look through all of it.. but im looking to get some wheels and im wanting to stretch and poke.. the wheels im looking at are 18x8.. what tire size would i need to run in order to have them stretched and poked some

Well stretch refers to how the tire mounts to the rim, and poke refers to how the wheel interfaces with the car. An 8" wide rim isn't going to poke, you're probably looking at 9" in order to do that. I have no idea why you would want to stretch a tire on only an 8" wide rim, but you'd probably be looking at a 225 wide or less. Most people stretch the tire because they have to for fitment reasons so that the tire doesn't rub on the fender. If you stretch a tire and are only slightly lowered, people are probably going to make fun of you .

I'd suggest looking at the stanced thread, lots of good ideas on rim and tire combos to get what you are looking for.

but yeah if you really want to stretch on a 8in rim, which i wouldnt. i dont like stretch regardless, you're gonna want like 195/40 or lower
