tires are made to have straight sidewalls you do know that right?
and how could you think its not dangerous? good luck replacing tires every week.
oh yeah, and why are you so set on following a trend?
just because some german VW guy stretched his tires, you think you should too? way to follow people.
and how is having style having stretched tires?

I don't mean to flame, but I just don't see the value of this.

why does everyone keep saying its a german thing... the japanese have been doing this for way way longer... why does anyone do anything to their car, because they want too, its not your car so what do you care? it doesn't make you look bad your not driving the car... i bet if everyone had stretched tires you'd want regular ones just to make a statement...
this makes no since... your following a trend by running your tires the way EVERYONE does... so he wants to stretch his to be different from the rest of you... let him do what he wants...
once again opinions are like ******** everyone has one.

if its so dangerous, why would a drift car do this, and they are definatelly pushing the limits on their turning and you don't really see issues with it? u see more issues were the body kit rips the tire off because they wreck, than you do seeing a tire come off the wheel.

you guys need to chill out. i personally never liked the look but it is starting to grow on me.
also it is not only a vdub thing, it is huge on any european car and now that i read more of this it is becoming popular with japanese cars too. alot of my friends own euros and im big into euros (in fact a euro is my next car) and i know plenty of people who have done this and there is nothing unsafe about them. only problem is curb rash but if your careful then theres nothing to worry about. If you can't find any good sites about them register on vwvortex.com and post a thread asking and theyll be plenty of people to help you out (the way this site used to help people out) good luck man

Like I mentioned before...a track car (ok) is one thing, but street driven (not ok) is another.
If someone was ever in an accident with their tires "stretched"...Good luck in trying to convince an insurance company or law enforcement that it is a "perfectly safe" practice...

insurance appraisers aren't going to know what a stretched tire is numb nuts stop worrying about what'll happen to bad drivers. Most of these trends came about in the late 70's early 80's when the bosozoku bike gangs were around in japan. they used to do crazy **** to their bikes annoy people in traffic and try to cause accidents. then they started modding cars. stretched tires, fender flares, exposed oil coolers, huuuuge camber, no suspension, tiny steering wheel and wide 13" work wheels. it's comparable to rat rodding in the US. here's a few good examples. I think these videos are really funny.

hahahaha! exactly my point I know like 2 people with nice rims on their balt. I do things right so I wanna go all out and get some ridic rims. I can't find anything cool for my bolt pattern! Does anyone know where to get spacers/adapters?
#73
lol buying the proper size wouldnt be much more $ if your buying legit rims you dont care anyway......buying tires that are too small kuz your rims cost you too much is just such a rediculous claim
this dudes actually got the right idea. you could be a revolutionary to this scene if it comes through. some Work VS lines would look proper on a balt

I was looking at those earlier. the gold will go very well with the apex gold n1 tip I have and the chevy bowties. work meisters will also look ridic with flat gold and a retarded lip if I can even find them anywhere. I'm jut worried about my bolt pattern something needs to be done with this 5x110 garbage
