Tires?
Hey guys, I'm looking for some tires that have a rim guard, good tread wear, good wet and dry traction, 235/40-18 and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on what kinda tires I should get, not too expensive.

Also check out these. I just ordered some (I got 245/40/18) Really nice grip on them too, my buddy has some and you can feel them sticking to the road. His car weighs 3200 actually, edit because that's not that heavy lol.

YES - and they are one of the best happy medium that you can find as they have good grip, the side wall are a little soft compared to others but as a result you will have a decent ride(doesn't jar you like run flats do). Also, I live in South Carolina so our winters don't too harsh and as a result I can go all year with them on - limping through winter.

i personally like my goodyear eagle gt's. has a decent rim guard, but not one so huge its nearly impossible to mount, and it's worked great for me year round. It is rated to last about 40k miles

basically the outer sidewall of the tire sticks out further than the rim so you take a chunk out of a $2-300 tire instead of a chunk out of your $8-900 rim if god forbid you kiss a curb. When you see it it looks as if the rim is recessed into the tire. You only usually see them on low pro tires that are 40 or lower.

Are you willing to get great grip ( like for track level driving) and around 20K to 25K miles of life, or want more like 40K+ miles of life in exchange for a little less grip near the limit ?
