Lightbulb CASE Relearn required for Stage III ?

Hi guys,

I've noticed that the Stage III is not very popular around here, but considering the limited tuning possibilities in my area it's pretty much the only option for me.

Now, I have read some threads about various Stage III subjects, but one thing that is not 100% clear to me is whether a CASE relearn is required after installation of this PCM. Some say yes and some say no and that swapping back and forth from Stage II to Stage III is just a matter of swapping PCM's and DONE.

I know roughly what the CASE Relearn entails but if anyone can just enlighten me further or provide me with some specifics on this procedure, please do.

The main question is: Is a CASE Relearn definitely required for Stage III

My stage3 pcm is on the way, from what I read you don't have to worry about it.

I'm interested what others have to say though.

I don't know if it is required on your ECM, but normally it is with a new ECM.

It is used by the ECM to learn the acceleration and decceleration patterns of you engine while running normally, so it knows when there is a missfire or other cylinder firing issue.

You need a dashhawk or HPTuners or to take it to the dealer to do the procedure though I believe.

If the setup comes with a controller of some sort then it should be able to to the case relearn via that.
