Question Wingless???

I was just wondering, and forgive me if it's already been posted, but I was thinking of losin the wing. Is there a how to on this, and what is the pros and cons of not having a wing, is the wing just for show or does it serve a purpose???

Thanks for any reply's!!!!

it has now been proven that it creates down force at high speeds. that is just extra weight that you dont need IMO. its getting hot out now, just leave your car in the sun and when your trunk gets hot unbolt the 4 nuts under your trunk. then take your 15lbs fishing line and in a 'sawing motion' cut out the doublesided tape. next time SEARCH

In "theory" it provides a little downforce at 70mph... If it is removed you would have to find a way to patch/cover the holes, and GM was nice enough to not make it as simple as a plug or 2 by punching out some funny looking ( ) around the holes. So if you decide to go wingless you have 3 options.

1.) Trade trunks with a wingless balt (good luck)
2.) Remove wing and cover holes with colored vinyl
3.) Remove wing and patch/paint the trunk holes

As far as removal, its 4 screws and some body molding tape

Its just for show... It detaches with four bolts in the trunk and you have to get a crap ton of doublesided tape off that keeps it on... fishing line and goo gone and it should be good... but they you need to fill up the holes so no water gets in

The wing is a bitch to get off and you'll have to get the trunk welded shut and repainted. The downforce thing at high speed I think is BS! All that thing did was flop up and down and create drag. My car is just as stable at high speeds without it, and it's a hell of a lot better looking now! Just look at how sleek it looks now.

I know I saw this in the show off your wheels, I love that wingless set up....so about having it welded shut and repainted. How did you go about do this?
