Smile First home wash and wax for 08

So im fixing to go wash and wax my moms Altima for the first time in 08, it hasnt been waxed in about 5 months. So to get all the previous wax and everything off, how does this sound?
1. First, wash with dish washing liquid.
2. Rinse.
3. Then wash with Meguiars Gold Class Wash.
4. Rinse.
5. Dry it.
6. Wax?

Sound good? (we dont have any clay bar or I would do that too.)

<- thats not scraches, its a reflection of light coming through the cracks in the porch.

Pictures dont do it justice.

Why wash with dish liquid?? I know it cleans well but it can soften and/or yellow some clears.....

I would just wash with you car wash twice if your concerned.

Microfiber towels take off/smooth out wax pretty well too.

Dont use dish detergent, it can hurt the clear coat, just get regular car wash soap.

Only use dish soap if you are planning on stripping all of the previous wax jobs off! Which is what you would want to do for your first detail of the year!

Strip the wax ie: dish soap
Clay Bar
Cleaner Wax : Mothers, Meguairs, etc.
Polish: Mother, Meguairs, etc.
Wax: once again whatever you choose!

I have used those steps for quite a while and your car will look as good as it did the day you picked her up!

I would do exactly what you stated. Wash with dish soap, wash with good soap, dry, and wax.
