Question on how this works.

Alright. i bought my cobalt in january for 14,000. I have about 9,800 left on my payment. I want to see if i can get approved for an SS/SC. Now how would i go about figuring out how much i will get for the LS, and then somehow get approved for the SS/SC

you will have to see how much trade in you can get...and whatever you lack from your trade in on your current loan will roll into your new loan....its called being upside down.

Just go in to a dealer, your gonna get raped on the trade in though, they always do. They are gonna give you x amount of dollars and put whatever they did not pay off on top of your new price tag for the SS. It can get confusing and dont let them give you monthly figures tell them you want prices, not payments. Dont be too quick to jump in, they are gonna want to sell yah something so you can definetly haggle. I haggled my ss/sc 05 with 18k for 13000. Just be patient and dont let them take you to the cleaners. If you got approved for the first loan im sure that they will finance you again.

The first time? They figure credit like this. A percentage is how good your credit is. A percentage is your credit history(ie. making payments on time). A percentage is how much money do you have access to(ie. how many credit cards do you have, and how many do you have that you dont use. If you dont use them but have them you might use them and get into more debt than you can afford so it puts you at a slightly higher risk than someone who has one or two that are used frequently and paid on time). All of this over how much money you make. You are now in debt that we know of for just under 10k. That will effect how much more you might be able to take out regardless of how much they will pay on it.

With many of the credit reporting agencies, late payments will not show up on your credit report unless you are 30 days or more late.

If they give you $8000 for your Cobalt and you still owe $9800, then you have to add the $1800 difference to the price of the SS. So the SS you are looking at will cost you $15,800.

Not worth upgrading to the 2.4 SS IMO. You will just want to upgrade again. Probably not even worth upgrading to a 2.0, but eh.

I traded in a 2.4 SS for a 2.0 SS/SC and I thought it was worth it.
