reallyyy gay problemm plz help! cus chevy wont!

okay before anyone says anything yes, i used the search but nothing matches mine in detail.

im going to try to explain my problem as detailed as possible.

okay so today i was at a stop at my house and i put a good amount of gas after barly moving in first..but i didnt floor it..when i reached about 4500rpm i floored in and as soon as i floored it my car started jerking crazyy and i let off the gas.

then later on that car drive i was driving normal and from 2nd gear i floored it and when i reached about 5000 rpm it started slighty jerking.. nothing where you could tell from the out side if you were to be watching me but the driver could feel the jerks... almost as if the car didnt want to accelerate as it should when floored.

but i noticed that it really only does this when my gas meter in kind of close to empty..not even on E but about two sticks above it, and as it gets closer to the E the jerking gets worse.

ive had this problem for about 3 weeks now and i took it in to the dealership and they said nothing was wrong with it and they ran it threw the computer and everything, after that it went away for about 2 days and came back even harder.

i really dont know what to do or what the problem is so if someone could tell me what it mostl likely is you would be a greatt help and make me a happier person

thanks!

first car? stop hopping on the gas... either go easy the whole way or stomp on it from the start, start slow then hit it and you get the jerks...

ok, well, you don't have an intake yet, so the first thing I'd normally trouble shoot would be if your intake was getting wet, because I've gotten that. But you don't have one, so that's out.

Until you start throwing codes, GM won't help you. They are totally dependent on that little electronic box that they hook up to your car. If a computer can't tell them what is wrong they don't bother.

Your starving the car of gas !
The little gas you have must be moving away from the fuel pickup when you step on it.
This time of year you should keep it above half to avoid condensation in your fuel tank anyway.

Put some fuel conditioner in it next time you fill up but it sounds like you never do fill it up if your driving with it close to Empty all the time.

Jerking at acceleration

Even in Texas the nights can be quite cool which would create condensation in the gas tank, but regardless you could have gotten water in the gas from a gas station. I would try a gas dry additive to the gas tank and try as a preventive move to keep the gas tank above quarter full. The low full level causing flow problems also sounds like a possible explaination which would also be cured by watching the fuel level. Could also be that your fuel gauge is malfunctioning and you have less fuel than you think. Try these simple fixes first.

right on. Definately water in the fuel from something. I'd dump in some water remover, and even go as far as changing gas stations. I had a simular problem with surging, found out the station I was getting my fuel from had water in it. Changed gas stations, added water remover, fixed it right up. Good Luck

I can go WOT with an almost completely empty tank and the fuel doesn't slosh back enough to cause starvation... I think there's another issue here.

Yeah, this one is pretty easy, and Coblasts got it right. When you suddenly accelerate with no gas in the tank, you are throwing all of the gas to the back of the tank and uncovering the fuel pump. You are sending air into the fuel line, hence the jerks when your engine gets air instead of gas. Go fill your tank up. Problem solved.

stop flooring it in 1st. 1st gear is very very touchy, and jerks like crazy if you do.
