No more gears!

well. two days ago i went shifting into second, and it wouldnt go in, so... i took it back to my friends house, and noticed second wasnt really happenin, and it would grind when i let off the clutch.. So, i figured it was a synchro. Called my dearler and set up an appt for mon.

Well after further review, my car will not shift into ANY gear. Its like one GIANT neutral. Awesome, right? It wont go into into reverse or anything at all. So now it has to be towed to gm.

I gotta say im a little fed up with this car. Its been Alot of headaches.

Good news is i just bought 600 bucks in tires and JUST ordered my springs, YAY!... not

ouch, hopefully things will work out for you. Well once everything is fixed you can put the springs in and you can be happy.

You guys apparently need to relearn how to drive! These trannys are very touchy....

Or just don't do drop clutch burnouts all the time, and maybe it'll last a little while!

hmm, do you think i should put my stock airbox back on. I have the AEM intake so it can only be seen behind the wheel well. Or should I be okay, since the AEM doesnt really affect the transmission.

I think you should be fine! I had 8800 miles on mine when the tranny box became a box of neutrals... I had to wait like 3 weeks as they shipped another transmission over from germany, so hope that they can get you one and it was warrantied after they towed it up there!

this **** just happened to me last night. i ended up having to sleep in my car cause it happened at 2 o'clock in the morning and i was an hour and a half away from home. needless to say i towed it to the dealer and haven't talk to the service department because it's sunday. so you guys said this would be covered under warranty?

If it's because of the shifter i doubt they will cover it since you have STS.

It could be just the clutch gone. Hope its just the clutch and not the tranny. When my stock clutch went I put in a Exedy clutch and flywheel and my problems were solved. Great mod.

I don't understand all the blown trannies. I've had my SS/SC since day one and now have 15K miles on. Not one tranny or clutch problem and I learned how to drive stick on this car. I don't beat on it everyday but I do drop it into second doing 40-50 every once in awhile. I think its people beatin the **** out the cars day in and out. You need to sit back and drive it like a normal car.

Could it be because of the shifter? It was working fine for a while when I first installed it.

I'm glad I haven't had these problems.... 32k miles (I'm the original owner) and not so much as a clutch slip or gear grind in 1st-5th (with the exception of reverse--it grinds from time to time; I just try to hold the clutch down longer than 5 seconds when I shift into reverse)

guess it was a roll pin, He said it showed no signs of abuse, and my clutch still has plenty of material! Not as bad as I thought eh?
