CEI.. Turned Into Some Usefull Information

I Filled Up With Gas Today 94 Octane (Of Course $1.05/L Canadian) and as i came out of the gas stations my Check Engine Light Came on... So on my way to Whitby i stopped off at a Chevrolet Dealership to get them to let me know what was the problem..

The service writer went and got the diagnostic tool and found out the everytime u turn the key on it does a whole system check (duhhhhhh) and just a fluke it had a brain fart and then after everything was fine so out of 4 starts since the gas station 4good 1sumfin was up...

While here is the main thing While i was there i asked him to check out my A/F Ration with the scanner, now my car was a running coolant tempatuire and the Air/Fuel Ration was 14.7/1 at iddle...

ANY IDEA IF THIS I HIGH??????????
i though 12/1 is around average....

That would be a full throttle a/f ratio . 14.7 is what the computer is constantly trying to maintain during normal crusing speeds and at idle .

14.7:1 = Stoich = Most efficient for power and emissions. Anything lower is all for power.

If your CEL came on there is a code stored in the PCM. The should be able to pull it. Hell they can even tell how many miles since the last CEL.

The gentle men who was working on it... i dont think knew too much about the car, or the scanning tool.. as he said he has not done one in a while..

and he first hooked it up and the scanner with a F#$KED and he was like of **** i forgot a peice and he had to go get this adapter that look like a small external harddrive with a cable in ane out.. weired..

and the fact he said are SS/SC's have 4 Computers. and there was so many things that came up on the scanner that it took him a while just to find where the CEI menu was...

and another 10min to find the A/F ratio
