What can I do?

Whats up guys? Ok so a few weeks ago I pulled my headlights apart and painted the inside. When I went put it back together, some glue got onto the plastic outer lense of the light, so I tried to get it off before I put it back together. Nothing worked at all, it just smeared it. I tried paint thinner, gasoline, WD-40, everything, nothing would get it off. So I just had the intention of buying a new headlight and redoing it. Well needless to say I kind of slacked off on getting a new headlight, and now the Midwest Meet is next week and Ive got a shitty looking headlight. So what I was thinking is pulling it back apart, and maybe taking a real fine grit sandpaper and wetsanding where the glue is, will that work? Any other ideas? Thanks!

Try Goo Gone or bug and tar remover.

let it soak on goo gone for a while, like an hour, and then do the above ^ use a heat gun (hair dryer should work) and a razor blade.

if that doesnt work, BEFORE you try using sand paper I would try a wax rubbing combound that has pretty heavy grit to it (the stuff you would use to remove scratches in your paint)

get your rag wet and the lense wet and dont forget to buy some elbow grease.

Sound good guys, Ill definitely retry the goo gone. I cannot try the razor blade because its not thick enough, it had little viscosity to it when it melted. Thanks for the help!
