If you take a 20 pound sledge to the sides of the wheel wells, you could make them fit, but I'm sure that would throw a CEL by the time your done.

I run 245's and they are too wide for the stock rims, they look agressive, but I sacraficed handling, so back down to 225's I go.

the 245's dont rub at all and im lowered

damn, So I can go 235 40 18 than right? I also have a set of 17x8's at home, do you think that 255's will work with those? Or do I have to run a 245 on them? Once again, major thanks guys!

The 255s are too wide... forget about them on a cobalt, you'd be rubbing all the time. Not gunna happen.

235s would probably be the biggest you would want to go and still have decent improvement over stock.

sweet, 235's for now, just so I can have some new rubber when I get my turbo kit. And after I get the kit I plan on getting my fenders rolled.....do you think I will be able to fit them then? and this is going to happen about mid summer by the way....

for 17x8 id do 245. You might be able to throw 255 but sacrifice handling

255s might fit on the wheel, but are they gunna fit in the wheel well without rubbing? Jackalope had 245s and said he had rubbing issues, I can't see a 255 fitting very well without spacers pushing the wheels out.

okay, I will look into purchasing some spacers from the local discount tire so that I can run them.

255 is a 10in wide tire, i wouldn't run them on anything smaller then an 8.5" rim

lol 255s will rub on the proper sized wheels. no real reason to buy them unless you donk out your cobalt or dont really like turning and like replacing tires often

Yeah, the price for the the 235's is not bad at all. I will end up going with the KDW2's in that size. Thanks for all of the help guys!
