if you look at the featured car (tofu) his tint looks really nice on his car.. Not too dark and not too light, it's just right.. I would say it's about 40%.. The percentage is the amount of light that passes through

How hard would it be to remove the tint 5 years from now when it turns purple?

I dont know much about tinting but am affraid it will look like crap in a couple years. Or has tint technology improved?

Well, when I got my windows tinted on my 2002 Cavalier it cost $80.00 but you could spend anywhere from there up to $135.00. Call around and get some prices. I had 20% in the back 3 windows and Driver and Pass side had 35%. Cops are kind of jerks around here, always pulling people over for window tints. 5% is like Limo tint I think

Yeah 5% is limo, I had all around limo on my camaro, I never got pulled over for them, in the year that I had it. BUT I stopped at a gas station about 230am, this copped just asked me what % the tint was I told him I dont know, he walked away... SO... I am going to be safe and go with 20% not as obvious.

It really shouldn't turn purple unless you use cleaners on it that contain ammonia or harsh chemicals in which case it'll peel, etc. real quick. This is the first time I've gotten mine tinted so I'll be keeping a close eye on it in the next couple of years to make sure the quality doesn't change. In the meantime on the rare occasion I actually need to clean the inside of my car I just use a damp rag and wipe it with a towel after (gently so I don't scratch it) and that's about all the treatment it gets . Mine has a couple of streaks under the tint only visible from the inside looking out especially when the temperature fluctuates but I'm not overly concerned since it looks perfectly clean from the outside.

gila tint is junk.. used that stuff on other cars and it just poses a huge cleanup when removing tint.. dont go with the precut tint either, there are still a lot of other things needed to do other than just have the tint cut right. take it to a shop and have it done. make sure the shop has a warranty for their tint. check your local laws for window tint too, i know here in michigan you can only have the back 3 windows tinted, and the top 4 inches of the side and windshield. just do your homework first, a good tint job for all 5 windows should cost anywhere between 160 and 200

Agreed, I paid 165$ for my 5 windows. To me, it was well worth having it professionaly installed and a lifetime warranty... they guy did a flawless job and was real cool. Think of a tint job like getting a tatoo... who cares how much it costs... it just has to look good imo...
