I was at Advanced Auto today and a guy asked me if i raced him on I-94 before. I said no, and he said he kiilled a SS/SC cobalt in his 2004 Grand Prix GT (auto). Just wondering if it was any of you guys. He said it was a black one.

Yeah that is absolute BS. I raced a Grand Prix GTP when my SS/SC was bone stock - with only 3000 miles on the odometer and took him by 2 car lengths. No way a GT could hang with an SS/SC. Either the SS/SC wasn't racing, or he just punched it in 5th... lol

As a side note... I also ran a GTP one night once I had stage two on my car... it wasn't even close... at 120 I had about 10 car lengths on him

 

Yeah i told him BS to and i asked if he wanted to go from a 40mph roll sometime, and he said yes and that he would destroy me because when he has his car in 2 going 40mph he has his best acceleration..

 

Killed one also, you'd be safe betting some money

I killed a GTP in my 2.4 with a couple mods. There is no way he did that, lol.

 

He said he was completely stock

 

I raced a turbo grand prix GT when I was only stage 2, and I pulled a fender. You should smoke one if it's not boosted.

 

check for the nitrous then cuz they're not even a sweat for a 2.4

 

Also note that the new GT's from 2005+ are all supercharged. They dropped the GTP name when the GXP came out to prevent confusion, and instead supercharged all Grand Prix GTs from that point on. So it's the same thing as before.....you can only tell fromt he outside because they have that little 1" square GM badge on the fender and the other ones dont.

I know it's possible, but my GTP ran 14.1 int eh 1/4, so it's not always a possibility that you can outrun them. because I don't know 2.4's running that fast.

Same HP rating but we know the SS/SC is under rated and 700lbs less

Id like to see a SC GT go at a balt SS SC, the cobalt is so much lighter I think it would take it

i personally raced a GTP Supercharged at the drag strip in my 2.2L.

He ran a 15.1, i raced 2 different ones and they both put down that time. They both had stuff done to there cars also.

So unless the SS driver like completely ***** up, then you got this.

So have I and If we can do that with 2.4 then you should def be able to do that with a SS/SC

 

I guess not all GTPs are created equal. I know mine was fast. But I was beaten by a Cobalt SS/SC on the street, and that's how I eventually got into one.

lmao ive raced a good half dozen stock and mod they think there lil tap shift **** helps them out u can sit and toy with them and still pull a car away agh thats just plain ole gross to say some dumb **** like that
