Cobalt Model Lineup
Cobalt Model Lineup
Okay, after reading through some of the posts on here and other Cobalt sites, I became a bit confused.
I understand in the coupe there is the Base, LS and SS Supercharged. Now, from what I read, is there going to be an SS model, and the lineup for the coupe would be Base, LS, SS, and SS Supercharged? Because, if there is an SS model without the supercharger, I may wait and not get an LS because the SS will most likely a bit faster.
The only problem I have with the cobalt is the sedan's back end. I saw a few pics of the concept SS Supercharged Sedan and I wish they would have put the coupe back end on the sedan. I just think it looks a lot better.

for 2005 there are: base, Ls (+some sport package option), and SS SC.
For 2006: GM says there will be an SS (2.4L VVT Ecotec) that will produce 170HP/170 lb-ft. But it will come in Auto tranny only.
NOTE: past behaviour is the best predictor of future behaviour. GM has a history of not delivering when they are supposed to. I wouldn't hold your breath, you may end up more than blue in the face.
