think i broke my axle

i was pulling in my driveway today and heard a pop then clunking. So i drove it around the block and now it clunks when the wheel turns, is that my axle? if so can i just go to napa and get one? ive got a 2.4 is it the same one for the 2.2? im guessing they dont have one for the 2.4 in stock they never do......

I think you should jack the car up and look at it. And I doubt Napa would have something like that in stock.

Might be a CV joint. An axle would be highly unlikely unless you were doing a hard launch and wheel hopped.

My money says CV joint. Boot cracked, joint dried up and is now shot. Should be warrantee'd.

Sounds like the seal on the differential that surrounds the driveshaft. check if you're leaking any tranny fluid from there. Mine did the same thing when it was f'd.

You will probably have to replace the half shaft, thats what I have always done.
