i coulda swore i seen some where the the ss/tc will max out at 20 psi like the skye and solstice. the edmunds review claims it will get 21 psi. the kid who has the tester ss/tc cant get better than 18 psi. does anyone really know what the max psi the ss/tc will achieve?

it's capable of 21 psi.. and can be retuned to 24 psi and make 275 RWHP and 300+ RWTQ, this is on a sky by the way. and it's factory stock except for a retune.. and 24psi is pushing the limit's of the k03 jus alittle bit..

GMPD took an innovative approach to the gutsy four-cylinder. Instead of tuning to a prescribed boost level, the ECU targets a constant torque number using a variable boost strategy. Ambient air temperature and absolute air pressure are two of the main tuning parameters. So on a cool night with dense air the turbo may only need to produce 13 psi to hit the mark. But on a hot summer day it will unleash up to 21 psi in its efforts to deliver the goods.

And once modded, if the turbo gets above 23psi, it will start to surge quite a bit. According to GMPD, 24psi is beyond the limits of the turbo for any kind of longevity, and is definately not streetable due to surge.

Also, if the turbo boosts over 21psi for too long the car will go into limp mode (w/ stock tune).

seems like lots of things put the car into limp mode. for the sake of everyone buying them i hope they get some tuning figured out.

i love when people are only concerned about how much psi they can run. all psi is is resistance. i mean you do know that a cobalt that runs 8psi can be faster and put down more numbers than a cobalt with 20 psi right?

People dont understand turbo's and turbo sizes yet. Its gonna be a while before they do.

Ive run a max of 24 psi after my stage 2 tune. I surged like a mother fucker
In fact it was so loud that at times people thought i had a bov.

P.S.I. doesnt mean shit until you swap out the turbo and get one serious tune
Your gonna need a stand a lone ecu in order for that to work too.
Plus some serious codes to trick to stock ecu

You got that right. Even a exhaust could put this car into limp mode. Only time will tell. Become friends with people that are actually getting this car and plan on modding.
I wont be expecting me getting one till mid june, hopefully right before the NY meet.

So if you want updates on everything that works and doesnt work you can talk to me but again it wont be till mid june and even then. I dont plan on going beyond the basic bolt ons until my warrenty is gone. So no tune for me. Once you get a tune say goodbye to the powertrain warranty

y you worried about maxing a turbo....swap for a bigger turbo...21 psi on a Ko3 and 21psi on a K04 is tottaly different...shit put a 50 trim on one of these TCs and watch that bitch scoot...like a bat outta hell

yeah but late 2010, dont expect it to be out in summer of 09.

quick question, why did you get a 2 channel kicker amp if your only running dual subs?
Unless your powering speakers to.

Sounds like the same thing the srt-4 does. That just means in a few months you'll have a ton of people asking why they're only getting xx psi when some guy in another state (climate/elevation) is getting xx amount of boost.

Edit: damn, didn't notice the date of the last post. Guess it doesn't much matter since it was still on the first page anyway.

Yeah. Ive seen 20psi (maybe 21) but when you are boosting at WOT I pay more attention to the road then the boost gauge. But maybe thats just me.
