Some advice for a trip to NY
Some advice for a trip to NY
So, I have been to plenty of times now since the wife's family all live up there. I have not ever flown into the Macarthur Islip airport and need some local long islander advice. What is the easiest way to get from the airport to Grand central station? Hell if I can at least get into Manhattan I can navigate to Grand Central from there no problem. I don't really want to take a cab all the way from Macarthur to Manhattan, but I will if that is the easiest way.
I have one last question as well... I am going to New York because my cousin decided she wanted to get married in Central Park. That evening (it will be Saturday June 7) we all want to go to a club or somewhere in the area to hang out, chill and maybe dance the night away. Since I don't live there I have no idea what places are any good to go to and how hard it will be to get in. Any advice or help you can give me would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Alright I will remember bleeker street for the bars.
As far as getting to Manhattan - I won't have a car so I can't just take the northern state parkway. I have to either take a cab/subway/other? to get there and no I am not going to rent a car. Once the wife and I get to her parents in upstate (poughkeepsie) then we can use either their car or my sister in law can take us around, but I don't want to spend the money to rent a car since the mass transit system in New York is much easier then driving around (especially when you are not used to the roads).

ah well if thats the case once you get off the plane get a cab to the RONKONKOMA TRAIN STATION...and take that to Penn Station (heart of manhattan) it is real easy...RONKONKOMA is the begining of the long island rail road...and penn station is the end...will cost about 10bucks for the train ride...not sure about the cab fee...but probably around 5bucks cause the train station is really really close...and yes lets go mets!! and yes bleeker street is really awesome!!!
