Thumbs up Deep fried my brakes!!

I took my 05 ss to the dealer the other day for a broken sunroof bracket. The pos broke the night before and closed on a 45. The dealer was to fix it under warrantee. I've been meaning to bring the car in for the rediculous squeeling i've been getting from my brakes for the past 8,000 k. I told them to check them out. I got a call later telling me the parts for the sunroof will be in on monday. I asked the advisor, so how r my brakes. He said, oh ya, my shop forman wated to know what race track u've been tkin this thing too, because u managed to fry a set of tires and burn ur brake pads in jus 14k. I broke out in laughter. I could only tell him to do his best with what he had. OH WELL. I guess its time for a brake upgrade. 12"? maybe. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM?

Everyone in the GTA stay away from ROY FOSS CHEV on weston and seven. I went to check on my car and the sob's left it outside with the sunroof open and it was rainning. I stole my car back immediatley gonna raise hell on Monday.

I hate that dealership too! lol, when I went shopping for my cobalt, they gave me the sh*ttiest price. Test Driving the ss/sc down hwy 7 was pretty fun. Anyways Are they going to cover the brakes under warranty?

They machined the rotors and sanded the pads. Apparently all they could do.

Ouch this car has great brakes. Maybe you guys need to take it a little easier on the brakes. And who doesn't know that squeeling sound from the wheels means your brakes are toast ??

That'll last all of half of what they did last time. There just isn't enough meat on newer, or small car rotors to be resurfacing them anymore.

All the Arizona SS S/C owners I have talked to have really bad wear on the rotors. ExHondaMan bought a new set of cross drilled and slotted rotors form I think Uneek. I guess Chevy used a pad that is harder than the rotor. Atleast that is what the service manager told Bulldog71ss.

It could also mean they are dirty.

I've got 30, 000 Kms on my car and my brakes are great. No issues ...yet. I know I will kill them soon though, my Alero had brakes done at 14 , 000 - 28, 000 and 57, 000 Kms...so we'll see

maybe if ur constantly running it up to triple digit speeds on city roads then feel the need to slam on your brakes

Well that explains the problem right there. J/K

I'm a little upset about the brake thing. I'm gonna talk to my service manager about it next week. My Dad's friend just told me tonight that the S10's had the same problem at first.

It just hit me, maybe the bias is off from the factory. The fronts grab too hard and do more of the braking, tearing up the rotors. I had that problem on my truck when my rear ABS module got stuck closed and allowed no pressure to go to the back brakes. I went through a set of calipers and 2 sets of rotors before we figured it out.

I don't know about the rest of you, but my back brakes are in good condition on my car.
