So very VERY new to cobalts and Im doing a little reading on the new 08 balts, and Ive noticed that the older ones had a G85 performance package, Im guessing transaxle and such right? Its that an option on the new 08's or is that stock now?

ok the new 08 cobalt has a redesigned suspension which is better then the 07 and previous. you can get a limited slip diff on the 08 as well still an option, the tranny is the same f35 as previously used, though the 08 got a better clutch and flywheel so it should be able to handle the power.

 

cool thanks, called my dealer and they have 2 coming in by friday. Im doubting this the more I look on the forums ahahah. It better have LSD if its true or I'll be extra pissed

yeah as far as i know they still haven't shipped them mine was supposed to be here last friday and of course it is still sitting in lordstown.

 

Well Im closer to lordstown then most and Serpentini is a HUGE Chevy dealer in Ohio (Im guessing the biggest) so who knows it might be true. Either way Im taking it if it comes. They can order the LSD and install there for the 500$ I hope

 

The LSD option code is G85 on the 07-08 models.

 

g85 is the option for the lsd- I have my build sheet in front of me. Interesting though, Chevy doesnt list it on the web page when you spec one, and every build sheet I looked at at the dealer had the G85 listed... maybe it is stock now on the SS?
