Electrical problem 2.0l cobalt ss sc

I have a 2006 cobalt ss/sc g85 all stock. Recently been having trouble with charging system, short or alternator. I've replaced most of the fuses and put brand new battery in. Started it and after a few seconds my battery light comes on, checked battery while it was idling an it comes back at 11.82. If it's the alternator where can I find a replacement one without having to pay an arm and leg. Already spent around $160 on new battery and fuse kit.

Get your alternator tested, you should have had the battery test prior to just replacing it. Most autoparts stores have battery and alternator test equipment

Check the ground from the alternator to the starter as well but most likely it's a bad alternator. If you do replace check online first because the auto part stores are pretty pricey and most likely wont have it in stock because it's different then the regular cobalts. I ended up getting one of ebay for 80$. I see you're from Grand Rapids, I grew up in Hill City.
