Help, I'm debating 2.0 SS/SC engine vs vtec honda

Hey guys. I just got into this big online debate about the supercharged 2.0 motor vs vtec from honda. These idiots, like most honda rice owners, think that the ecotec is a joke and that the vtec in the RSX-s is far superior. Ive tried to reinforce that the ecotec is capable of handing massive modification on stock internals and that the vtec is nothing more than variable valve timing. I think what I really need to shut them up is a list of awards that the ecotec motor has won or further support as to why it is such a world renowned motor. Anyone have any advice? Please help.

Dude chevy designed and engineered VTEC and then could not refine the finished product and sold it to HONDA , period end IMO... I can not find anything to back this up on google, but im sure if you look you will find it!

why do you have to prove anything? ...just sit back and know that your motor is better, who cares what they think!

Point out the baddest Sport Compact four cylinders in the WORLD are Ecotecs:

http://tunersource.gmblogs.com/

And you can also say that Turbo Cobalts are now regularly building 400-450 HP on stock engines:

http://www.turbosystem.com/New_Folde...0Customers.htm

I'd rather have BOOST than VTEC any day!

Wasn't the ECOTEC at least in part engineered by Lotus?

my advice is to stop arguing with ricers online. because no matter what you say, it won't make a difference.

Here is what I find funny about this. I have an Ecotec in the Cobalt obviously, and my Integra has a NON-VTEC B18B in it. Guess what? Both cars have awesome torque and roll VTEC, MIVEC, and VVT-I cars all day long.

some of you have no idea about what part of the engine is what.

the k20 in the rsx-s is a superior motor in stock form. it is a **** ton more efficient

Oh, I'm not going to argue that one bit. I'm just getting started into the knowledge of what different honda motors are capable of, and I can tell you they are some pretty impressive beasts in stock form in the right hands.

i'm in agreement with everyone else saying it's pointless to argue online but if you really want to win, bring up the pinks episode with the civic hatchback with the vtec and many times it broke down to eventually lose the race...and the ride

also ask them if they've ever seen a vtec with 1,500+hp cause i know we've all read about the ecotecs doin it
