Question Front strut Brace, Worth the price????

Hey guys was just wondering if a front strut tower brace is really worth the 100-150 bones for the thing... Does it really tighten up the front end, or are you better or getting some sportline or something for 250 bones. Thanks

does nothing' towers are very close and attached to firewall, cobalt is not a ricer doesnt need the help. strut braces do look cool, but form follows function. save your money.

i'm going to have to disagree, although the difference isn't as drastic and springs, i did feel a difference with my MRZ strut bar. the car is noticeably tighter, and stiffer especially at highway speeds. it's definitly worth the money.

you have to remember though that suspension upgrades are a whole system, just doing one thing will not result in a perfect handling solution.

had one on for over a year and a half. just sold it. does nothing, maybe a slight SLIGHT difference. dont be mistaken, this is a visual mod not performance.

I think that my car feels alot tighter and less sloppy. Plus it looks dope. I've got a DC one which supposedly doesn't even do as much, but it was the one that I found for sale used on here, so I picked it up. Who cares if it's used? It's a tube. Instead of paying 150 or so I just paid 60 shipped.

A member on the forum talked to the Cobalt structural engineer about this...a strut bar does nothing.

I would recommend the rear sway bar over the strut bar. The strut bar does very little and is not noticeably improve handling. On the other hand you will be amazed at the difference the rear sway bar makes

it def helps out, i could tell the difference one my G5 as well as my 2.4 on her 2.2 The fire wall is not ment to support the cars load, however it does a tad however it does not prevent the strut towers from moving independently which the Strut Tower bar does. U can feel a dif with the bar on, will it make your car a race car no, but like all mods it another part to puzzle..

structurally the bar does nothing...the strut towers are to close to the firewall...so it does virutally nothing...i'm sure there is a little flex but you pay the same for a rear sway bar so just buy that an tighten her up that..way...i'd say 90% visual 10% performance

90/10 is far from the truth. you saying "but you pay the same for a rear sway bar so just buy that an tighten her up that..way" shows you are confused in what each product is designed for and what it really does or just missed informed. A Strut tower bar and a front or rear sway bar do two totally different things. The sway bars reduce body roll as the Strut Tower bar limits individual movement of the strut towers. Yes the strut towers are very close to the fire wall, but the fire wall is thin sheet metal and does not limit the movement of the strut towers. Like I stated earlier this mod will not make your car handle amazing alone, however you will def be able to feel the difference thus proving that it is infact doing its job.

Alone... it isnt going to do much, tighten up the front slightly... yes. If you have been driving your car for a while and put it in, you will feel the difference. But add it as an accentuating piece (new springs, new tires, rear antisway, strut bar) and you will notice. Do it piece by piece and notice the difference each time. the car goes from quite sloppy to handling pretty well. Mine has been tested a few times in RI cuz drivers dont like to look when they pull out. Without my suspension upgrades my car would be sideways on a pole instead of in my driveway.

new tires will do 10x more handling wise than a strut bar. spend ur money on some good rubber.

if you want tigher or more responsive steering...spend the dough on some bwoody endlinks

although if its between sportlines and a strut bar...springs no question
